Connecticut was the best defensive team in the tournament and the Irish were able to put up some gaudy shooting numbers against them.
52% from the field, including 50% from three. More impressively, Notre Dame got to the line 22 times, something only Baylor has been able to do against the Huskies this year.
A&M has shown the ability to frustrate the best of offenses. They forced Stanford into 22 turnover, or 1 in every 3 possessions. For the second game in a row, it was their second half rebounding that helped win the game. There is a never say die attitude in each of theses teams, as they both defeated their conference champs after 3 previous losses. The Irish can shoot with anybody and that may be enough, but A&M is playing on a different level defensively right now and I think that'll be the difference.
