Doesn't science also tell us if you are born with a Y chromosome you are infact male no matter how badly you want to put on a dress and run on the girls track team?
I mean science trumps all right?
...
I'm not a scholar of gender politics. So I asked a colleague who responds with the following:
(1) Why are dresses associated with genitals? They haven't always been and still aren't in some cultures (e.g., Scottish men wear kilts).
(2) There is a wide expression of sex and gender variance among humans. Some of this is social and some is genetic. For example, some cells, especially in older men and smokers, lack a Y chromosome. Are you suggesting that older men and/or smokers are not 'real men'? Cause that's science, bro.
(3) Just tell this person to go educate themselves about non-binary gender expression and report back.
I could also ask others if you're dissatisfied with this response.
Peace!
