First game getting started today should be a good one. Korea vs. Taiwan
I see Korea as the team with a little more talent across the board and generally are the odds on favorite to finish second in Pool A (behind Japan).
However, my lean tonight is on the team from Taipei. They are a hungry team with strong pitching and a general hatred for the Korean team.
According to a couple friends of mine who are BIG baseball fans/local journalists in Taiwan, the team is very eager to make it to the next round of games. To do this they will need to beat either Japan or Korea. Obviously, beating Korea is more feasible.
This is an island with a deep baseball tradition, and they are tired of being 3rd best in Asia. I expect them to come out with more energy and urgency in this first game than Korea.
Expect a low scoring pitchers game, as neither team is noted for strong hitting.
