Properly titled, but hopefully my novice capping will grab some ching this weekend. Kind of caught up in this event, and naturally clouding my judgment. But, so what? :shrug:

Definitely not a soccer person, but I like some of the information for this matchup. Here's my "logic" in backing USA to win today:
? Revenge from last tourney, where Ghana knocked USA out.
? USA seems to be effective when they need goals, and when they get motivated. Two goals VERY ARGUABLY disallowed, and they have had some great opportunities come very close, aside from their goals. Ghana has only one goal in the tournament thus far.
? USA probably realizes they need to try to score, and not just hope not to lose, considering the officiating treatment they have received thus far. May be more motivated to try to score than Ghana here.
? Just getting out of Round One takes a lot of pressure off the team, and if they can overcome a relaxed early feeling and not give up an early goal, this should be a good mix of emotions for the USA.
? Love Howard, he makes me feel "safe."
Seems like a good spot for the USA, despite the more home field advantage Ghana will enjoy. I think they might be more motivated to go for a win here, and not just "not lose" as some teams might be happy with early in Round Two. Again, I ain't no soccer guy, but will ride with the homies today.
