first off congrats to both tms to get to the world series...
for the most part, I'm not a numbers cruncher... I think at this time of year.. its about somebody stepping up... or not lol (ask the Angels who I thought were the best team consistently all year, but couldnt come thru in the clutch)
In a short series, 1 or 2 hot players can carry a team to the championship...
Who will it be this Year??
Tbay.... Longoria... Upton... ?
Phillies... Rollins... Utley.... Howard... Burrell... Victorino... ?
Having been part of the sportsworld for the last 30 yrs or so... I believe I see a few conflicting basic theories that come into play...
1) Tm that has had to wait a wk to play while other finished their series is in a hole... ADVANTAGE TBAY
2) Tm that gets here for the first time, particularly with young players usually doesnt win the 1st time around... kinda like the Super Bowl... ADVANTAGE PHILLIES
How I see 'em...
Starters... ADV Tbay (except for Hamels)
Bullpen... slight edge to Phils...
Lineup... ADV Phillies... veterans, plenty of power, need Rollins to spark the offense
Both tms have been solid thru the post-season, Phils maybe more consistent, Tbay has run sort of hot and cold... but won when they had to vs Rsox
So....
I'm going with the more experienced team, Howard, Rollins, Utley, Burrell, Hamels and Lidge... (former MVP's and maybe this yrs too)
:director: Phillies to Win it ALL!! risking 3 units...
Tonights game.... Phils ml and rl...
small play on UNDER 7.5
and I will expect tbay to win tomorrow...
