Well I managed a split on the last SF win. Could have gone either way on the sides. Since there's not much going on today I thought I would make a few comments on the series.

First of all we saw what a slight difference in the strike zone can make on the totals. All these pitchers need is any edge. I look for the league to go back to the tighter zone in the series making it a hitter friendly series. Of course we won't know that until after game 1. It would make for a better TV audience because as in all sports offence is more fun to watch than defence. The TV ratings have been better than usual and I feel that is partly due to the hitter friendly games in round 1. Assuming this turns out to be the case it should be a great series. I feel that Ana is the better hitting team over-all and SF has the edge in the power department.

The DH won't help Ana as much as it will hurt them when the series goes to SF. If we have the narrow strike zone I believe Ana pitching staff will have the edge, especially when it gets to the bp.

Just had something come up so have to make this quick. If the strike zone stays where it was in this last round I'll go out on a limb and say Ana in no more than 6 and we can keep playing unders. If they narrow the zone we can go back to playing overs again.

gsp ,how it going?
Very good write up(and here it comes) The DH WILL help the Angels in this series.
They have more possibiltes at the DH than the Giants do. I am a lifelong Dodger fan. I had the great oppertunity to play in Dodger Stadium in 1976 for the LA City School HS Championship game. The Dodgers were awesome during that period.

I disagree that the Giants have the advantage in the power dept.
I'm hoping that all the Barry talk sways bettors to that side.
the fact is, Anaheim DOESN'T EVER QUIT. They will compete HR for HR, Get MORE total hits in the series, have HF adv. I think it goes 7 games.

Once the series starts, they've both had to much time off, the Angels,at home will get the MO back. The fans will be crazy as hungry as their team will be to win the best 4 out of 7 games.

I fully respect the Giants, I had a ticket on them to win the NLCS. However in all my years as an Angel fan( they were my 2nd favorite team) THIS IS THE YEAR THEY BECOME WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS.

So Cal
Giants do have 3 pitchers that hit well. Nobody knows it but Washburn (.347) and Lackey can also hit. Lackey was a position player for some time before becoming a pitcher. These two Halos can hit. Can't say much for the rest of them.. I agree that the manner in which the umps interpret the strike zone will n=be the key factor in this series.

Hi gsp

gl today as always, still working on this game.

Haven't looked at any other threads, so apologize if this has been mentioned one or more times. Just make sure you all consider the shadows from the mound to home plate.

gsp is right, I think you will see a tight strike zone. Playing a total looks like a no play in the first game. We need to know how these umpires are going to call the game, as gsp has already mentioned.

Going to be back with a few thoughts later, and hopefully a play.
