Interesting which world gov have come out with favorable views on election--maybe we can keep tabs

The 1st

Venezuela
"Of course, the citizens of the United States are humans with a conscience. It's a reprisal vote against the war in Iraq, against the corruption" within the Bush administration, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said. "All this fills us with optimism."

Australia-Japan
Australia and Japan, two of the closest US allies in the region, both said the Democrats' upset on the back of anger over Iraq would not change their own domestically unpopular support for Bush on the war.

Will add others-- NK-Iran-Syria and probably UBL when they appear :)
++++++++++++++++++++++++

--and where am I going wrong with all news sources including Fox having Dems winning control of senate--
is final tab not 49-49-2 ??

Yes, 49-49-2. However, both Sanders and Lieberman have said they will caucus with the Democrats, giving them a 51-49 edge.

I know a few Dems Liberman won't be ;)

Basically I am happy with majority of freshmen Dems as almost all are moderates.

Thanks B couldn't figure it out--on wagers made it was called push 49-49 as they ruled Independents are neither Dems or Rebs--which I thought was rather obvious.

Italy's centre-left prime minister, Romano Prodi, said the Iraq war had taken a toll on the US administration. He added later that he hoped to intensify the development of "more cooperative" ties between Washington and Europe in light of the Democrats' victory.

In France, which opposed the US-led invasion from the start, Defence Minister Michele Alliot-Marie said Rumsfeld had "taken the consequences" of an election in which voters punished the government over Iraq.

Just wondering what you could possibly find wrong with the statements coming out of these other countries? They are so on the mark, it's not even funny. Political? Hardly...painfully obvious is more like it.

Just putting them up as they fall Chad.

I expect when I'm done you'll see all the ones we are at odds with cheering the dems and those allies like Aussies and Japan so far still backing Bush and war.

Goes back to what I said before about Dems and opposition singing same tune--which reminds me better go check out algezeera and see what they have to say--back in a flash :)

Was pretty straight forward--

US newspapers face crunch time

Thursday 09 November 2006, 2:01 Makka Time, 23:01 GMT

The Philadelphia Inquirer's editor has said she will step down by the end of the year at a time when the US newspaper business is grappling with falling circulation and share prices.

Amanda Bennett made the announcement on Wednesday one day after the Los Angeles Times said it would replace its editor.

Bennett gave no reason for her departure, but said: "I know it sounds platitudinous, but the fact is, you get to a point when it's time to leave."

Bennett did not say whether she was resigning or had been forced out. She said that she and Brian Tierney, the Inquirer publisher, "mutually agreed" that she would leave.

Los Angeles Times editor Dean Baquet said on Tuesday he was leaving after he resisted a plan by the paper's owner, Tribune Co, to cut more staff in a bid to save money at the struggling Los Angeles paper.

Baquet and Bennett's resignations come at a time when the US newspaper business is grappling with falling circulation as readers and advertisers move to the internet and other media.

Meanwhile, a dissident investor is escalating a showdown with the New York Times Co, seeking steps that would lessen the Sulzberger family's control over the storied newspaper company.

Morgan Stanley Investment Management, which owns 7.6 per cent of the company's stock and is unhappy with a long slide in its share price, submitted a proposal on Wednesday aimed at giving other shareholders more say in the company's operation and future.

The proposal calls on the Times' board to make several changes, including putting its dual-class share structure - which cements control of the company by the Sulzbergers - to a shareholder vote.

It also calls for the roles of chairman and publisher of the Times' flagship newspaper to be separated. Both jobs are currently held by Arthur Sulzberger Jr.

Seems to me they aren't cheering the Dems...they are finding fault with this administration and Bush, as did the majority of Americans, including many republicans.

You are spinning out of control. Better take a time out with O'Reilly tonight in the no spin zone, my friend.

I guess there is others ways of looking at this info.
Might it be Bush peed off about half the world with his policies. If some are not so nice and decide they might try to be nicer. I guess we win.
