I know Kendall is hitting for a great avg so far, but how many HR has this dude hit in the last 4 years? 13 mill a year for this guy is unbelievable.

Blame Pittsburgh for that horendous contract. As far as this year, Kendall is playing very well. He had been hitting around .500 until he went 1-18 this last road swing :)

Eric Bruntlett ... even for a journeyman utility guy, he is pathetic. Should be a AA minor career minorleaguer. I am praying for a healthy Rollins return.

Other guys who really suck for what they are paid and yes, they are probably mentioned above and are guys I look to bet against regularly.

Barry Zito
Dontrelle Willis

Likely Former Roids Guys who can hit a bit but lost most power
Brian Giles
Miguel Tejada

Guys who can't hit for chit anymore but may still have some power if they can make contact
Andrew Jones
Richie Sexson

Andrew Jones in LA - he was finished with the Braves.

Chipper Jones - stays on DL and gets hurt running the bases. Larry stinks

Tom Glavine - Pulls a groin in the first inning he pitchs :142smilie

valverde definatley blows. he has around 10 earned runs and 2 blown saves in his last 4 innings.
chipper does get hurt often, but he still manages to get 100+ rbi, 30+ homeruns, and .300+ average every year.
and you can't say a players (kendall) sucks because of how few homeruns he hits?? i'm not sayin that he is good, but that can't be your reason for it. ichiro doesn't hit homeruns and he's pretty damn good

Chipper is a monster. He's a hall of famer. 2 DINGERS TODAY.

He's gonna win the batting title in the NL this year. He's gonna make a case for MVP type numbers if Teixeira starts to hit.

Chipper still hopes to play Monday

An otherwise perfect weekend for the Braves was dampened only by major-league hitting leader Chipper Jones' early exit from Sunday's game.

He doesn't expect his sore right quadriceps to keep him out of the lineup long.

"I'm going to try to [play] tomorrow," said the third baseman, who went 2-for-3 and left the game shortly after his fifth-inning double. "But if I wake up sore and it's sore just standing around, how's it going to be playing?"

Jones, hitting .458 with six homers and 18 RBIs in 18 games, strained his quad just over a week ago on a cold night at Colorado. It flared again last weekend in Washington, but he said Sunday was the worst its felt since Colorado.

He woke with tightness in the muscle and couldn't get it to loosen Sunday.:scared
"I just didn't want to take any more chances that I had to," said Jones, who got up slowly after a one-out double and slide in the fifth inning, then came out after the inning. "It knotted up on me standing around.:SIB

"The double certainly didn't help. I figured the best thing to do was just shut it down, get some treatment today and tomorrow, and maybe I'll feel better.":mj07:

He had six hits in the series, including two homers Friday. Jones has a 12-game hitting streak, and has hit .571 with five homers in his past seven games.

"He's questionable for tomorrow, no more than that," manager Bobby Cox said. "It's nothing that's going to keep him out more than that, I don't think."

His third-base replacement, Martin Prado, hit an RBI triple in the eighth inning, after flying out with the bases loaded in the sixth when right fielder Andre Ethier made a spectacular leaping catch going back in the gap.

Chipper starts out hot then always coasts the rest of the way. He will be on DL four or five times this season.

Larry Larry !

Have to think the Chipper MVP "Chipperness" is due to the Braves logo, Bucs. Hit .400 this season? Jones is a career .308 hitter with a career best of .337. He hasn't hit more than 30 HR's since 2001. His best RBI year was 111 back in 2000.

He has started hot, no doubt, but to think a 36 year old player will hit 63 points higher than his career best season is going to the outer reaches of sensibility. And he'd certainly have to give up going for the long ball quite a bit to improve his average, wouldn't he?

Enjoy him while he's off the DL...only going over 600 ABs in a season once tells you he probably will again spend some time there.

If you've watched him play, and his at bats this year, you would have more of a sense as to why I think he's got a shot at 400. I've seen every game.

He's hitting the ball everywhere in the park, from both sides of the plate. He's got a freakin sore quad for crying out. Not a torn rotator cuff. He'll be fine.

He's gonna put up MVP numbers. Want to make a wager that he is/isn't in the MVP race?
