Not ot be rude to the Panthers and thier fans, but Carolina is the worst Super Bowl team of all time!

If you look at Super Bowl history Panthers have only outscored thier opponents by a total of 21 points, which ranked them 17 in the NFL. How bad is that stat? Its not the worst ever but pretty close. The worst number is owned by the 79 Rams, who went 9-7 and outscored their opponents by 14 points. The 1980 Raiders (58) and 1985 Pats(72) were also very weak in that dept. Raiders actually won thier Super Bowl.

So that leaves the 85 Pats, the 79 Rams and the 2003 Panthers to battle it out for the three teams with alot in common..

All 3 rose to the top in weak divisions

All 3 won 2 straight road games to make the Bowl

All 3 featured unknown names at QB,Ferragamo, Eason and Delhomme

and they all lost the Super Bowl !!

Bears beat the Pats 46- 10
Steelers beat the Rams 31-19

and THE 2003 Patriots will beat the Panthers by 10 or better.

I'd wait until after the game to say something like that. It reminds me of the 1998 college season when Wisconsin went to the Rose Bowl after not having to play Ohio State and losing to Michigan during the season, but getting in on tiebreakers. A few days before the game, Craig James said that Badger team was the worst team to ever play in the Rose Bowl. Which must have made the well-oiled offensive machine of UCLA feel pretty bad, since they ended up losing 38-31 to the Badgers.

"the bunker"
ridiculous

ridiculous

some of the pre-terrel davis denver teams were horrible....out of a pathetic afc at the time....elway was dan marino without terrell davis...

how can you label a team with an excellent running game and defense as "the worst"....and use point spread differential as the criteria?.....

weren`t the rams smashing teams a few years ago, only to lose to new england?.....was new england the worst super bowl winner?.......and isn`t new england winning many close games themselves this year.....

like comparing boxing champions of different eras....useless speculation....

it`s all about momentum and match-ups.....imo....

Would you rather be one of the 15 teams (not counting New England) in front of them sitting at home WATCHING the Super Bowl?

San Diego

San Diego

The year they were God awful. San Fran gave like 18 and Young threw for 6 touchdowns. That San Diego team ranks right up their and also the Falcons when they played Denver a few years ago.
