I really thought Okur got the shot off before the buzzard. Really suspicious ending when you consider the point spread was determined by the last shot.

The game was over.

The refs could care less about whether a shot made in the last 10th of a second was good or not. I've seen different opinions down the dial from guys that Tivo'd the game. Guess it depends on were your money lies.

last shot?

last shot?

i backed it up 3 times on my dvr and after review thought it was a hair late. before i reviewed it i thought it was good. was curious finley never tried to dribble out any time before the fouled him. he never missed a throw but i thought he could have run some seconds off the clock before they fouled him every time.

All the people complaining about Utah covering should realize that San Antonio was covering the entire second half. Not one time did Utah ever trail in the second by 6 or less. Stop the whining!

I'm not sure that makes any sense. I'm sure you've bet on an underdog before that was getting beat by more than the spread the whole game, then stages a miraculous comeback at the end to get the backdoor cover. Do you turn down the money in that situation? I didn't think so.

Obviously Mister Covers had San Antonio. This shot might have been a bigger swing for me than your monthly paycheck.

Look, I got screwed on an arena football game with a horrid call on an onside kick at the end of regulation earlier Sunday (Dumb to ever bet this sport, but I like my KC Brigade team). A few hours later, I have Okur makes a shot at the buzzard that was very close. Apparently the light had gone off, but he shot the ball with 0.1 seconds left. Anyway, I'm hardly crying, but I'm pissed as I would be collecting from my guy this week instead of rolling my number.

i had utah bought to plus seven. i just wish someone would clothesline parker and put him out of the series. after i heard the roar for the thug whorry yesterday i will always root against the spurs. at least in baseball you can give some payback to someone like him.

I boughth the spurs to 6, and i knew that the shot was good in my heart. i caught a major break.imo i will say that the lack of concentration by parker and ginobli at the ft line was exhausting for me. spurs bettors did deserve the win, but that shot was in, and we caught a break.

I thought the shot was good and didn't have a dog in the hunt for the game just the half where the shot meant nothing. Maybe its time to tape some of these games to get answers. The one that bugs me the most is the traveling call. You get one guy faking a three then dribbling and he gets called for traveling and then the next guy does it and there is no call.

This is the kinda guy where when you play a free contest but it is run terribly and when you comment on to make it better, he jumps in and tells you how ungrateful you are because it is a free contest. The 21 in a row site is famous for this guys.

hate the spurs?

hate the spurs?

the politically correct crowd drives me nuts. horry's stupid foul on nash should have been a flagrant, one game at the MOST. all this crying is killing me. remember the series years ago when the bulls and pistons would get it on? if you went down the lane you better have a mouthpiece in. the suspension of 2 guys for phoenix was ridiculous. stern ought to get suspended for that call; i don't care what the rules are.

Appreciate the support, but I think The Sponge might have been mistaking me for someone else. I didn't have a bet on the game either way and I never posted an opinion on whether I thought the shot was good or not, I was just responding to Mister Covers' post that people should stop whining about the shot because the Jazz wouldn't have covered the spread until right at the end anyway (or actually, he said that the Jazz were never covering because they never got closer than 6, even though 6 would have been a cover since most folks had 6.5 so I don't get his point there). His argument doesn't make any sense to me because there have been a lot of basketball/football games over the years where an otherwise "meaningless" score at the very end of the game made the difference between paying and getting paid.

The "Tuck Rule" playoff game between the Patriots & Raiders comes to mind (don't even get me started) and I recall a basketball game where I bet against Duke and I think Chris Duhon made some crazy half-court 3-pointer at the buzzer to change the wagering outcome. Just because the team that ends up covering wasn't covering until the very end doesn't change what the right result should be. If that shot was good, and you had Jazz +6.5, then you capped the game correctly and should be paid. If it wasn't, then the Spurs backers should get the dough. Either way, it doesn't mean that people who thought he got the shot off are "whining." On the contrary, the person who started this thread was actually someone who had the Spurs and was wondering if the NBA would ever go back and review a situation like this. I'm not sure how that's whining. As to The Sponge's post, I really have no idea what he's talking about, so I really can't comment. My comment about how a backdoor cover pays the same as any cover apparently has something to do with complaining about a free contest or something.
