Elvis,

Good points. The only reason I called out the defense so much was because I knew they would have to play a damn near perfect game to keep this one close. And I'm guessing they probably knew they would have to step up as well. I assumed TB wouldn't put many points up on offense with Simms behind center and NE's defense playing better lately. I guess I just thought the D would come out and play inspired ball since this was such a huge game for them. They didn't really seem to want it too much. But the bottom line is I was just clearly on the wrong side. Very good game by the Pats. Maybe they actually ARE turning the corner?

bottom line, i was on teh wrong side as well. :cursin:

regardless, ne kicked tb a$$.

disapointed in myself as i gave tb too much credit. they are only good if their def gets to's and if they can run. brady attacked them up top several times.

I've been saying all year I think TB is underrated, but after watching that game I'm rethinking that. You're right about their defense and running game being the keys to their success. Have you ever noticed how a team's strengths only seem to show up when they play at home? Once they go on the road they can't play defense OR run the ball effectively (Carolina game last week was an exception)? I'm not saying TB would have won if this game were played in TB, but they probably would have been able to run the ball better and I doubt they would have given up 28 points. Just something weird that I have noticed...
