Phenominal call by LSU, have to give it to Miles. How many coaches would have just taken a knee. Great game.

Why didn't Tuberville challenge the first down on the 40 yd line. And then he doesn't call timeouts to stop the clock. Horrible!!!!

give what to miles???

he's an idiot

they waste that time to run a play and get lucky that the clock doesnt run out during the play......

run they play yes, but snap the ball with 12 seconds or more left otherwise he ran the risk or the game ending.

I don't believe these dumbass announcers how ****ing stupid are they.

Kept saying if he doesn't catch it the game is over, unbelievable the clock still would have stopped if incomplete. If one second on a completion the  :firing: same second would have been there if he drops it.

Dumbasses unreal the commentating this year.

HAHA - I was thinking the same thing. Actually the clock was at 3 seconds when he caught it. The clock would not have run out if it was incomplete.

No they are right on this one. Going to eat another second in the time that it is deflectd/bobbled and gets to the ground. Regardless of result it was an incredibly stupid play, after a horrible ball spot that Tuberville didnt challenge, and then Miles doesnt go for two which though probably irrelevant was also stupid.

I noticed the same thing. Not only that, but on the replay there was actually :04 when he caught it. They just let the clock wind another 3 seconds after the play. If it was incomplete there still would have been 3 or 4 seconds and, call me crazy, but I'm guessing the hometown scorekeeper wouldn't have wound the clock down to 0 in that instance. And if they did, it would have gotten reversed.

you do realize that unless it's an actual shot of the clock (in this case it wasnt, it was espn's clock) it's not really on sync with the actual time on the field

no matter what, runnnig another play is fine becasue lsu still had a timeout.....but letting the clock run so much that they snap the ball with 8 left exposed them to the clock running out during that play.....and it almost happened.

i will say that had the pass been incomplete, the home town clock operator would have likely left 1 second left....but what if there was pressure, what if the qb checked down, what if that ball si bobbled-juggled-fought for, what if he sidesteps a rusher, etc, etc, etc/

I never said I agreed with the playcall. I think it was a horrific call to be honest. I think Les Miles is arguably the worst coach in college football with the ridiculous stunts that he pulls late in games.

All I was saying is that the announcers were wrong on this one. Based on the play LSU ran, there would have been time left on the clock if the pass was incomplete. You're right, any number of things could have happened during that play that could have been disastrous for LSU. It was a dumb decision to go for the TD. However, given the play that actually took place they still would have time to run another play after the pass.

the only thing they did wrong was they snapped the ball with only 9 secs left. They should of snapped it with about 15 secs left and great call going to the endzone.

He caught the ball with 3 secs. if he bobbles it its 2 secs no big deal they kick the FG at that point.

I cant believe nobody is crucifying Tubberville, he had 2 timeouts to spend with 35 secs left and didnt use them. He could of saved some time if LSU scored that was stupid on his part.

And yes Miles not going for 2 was stupid also. Its a longshot to run the kickoff back but it could of happened. Its a longshot but it could of happened.

I agree ball should of been snapped with 15 secs left they let the clock run down too much getting the play off.
