Wrigley Field Advice

I am going down to the game August 12 vs Phillies at 7 PM. We are leaving at 5 am and plan to be in Chicago around 1 - 2 PM. Any advice on the best places to go around the park or for parking/shuttle?? Need to kill time and we have a designated driver amongst us :mj06: Only walked around Wrigley once in the AM on way to US Cellular. Also if you have any tips on getting out after the game would be great too.. Or should we just hang around the bars until the crowds die down... Then its off to Milwaukee to watch the Crew fade against the Pads and Astros for 4 games. Last baseball trip of the summer. Thank God outdoor baseball is coming to the Twin Cities.:00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour

Is there anybody out there that has some advice about going to Wrigley??

There are locals that will let you park for somewhere in the $30 range...you will be within a couple blocks of the park.

All parking on the street within 5-6 blocks is permit parking only for residents.

We often park 6-8 blocks away on the street and walk 15 min or so.

Can't go wrong with any of the bars on Clark St (borders Wrigley) that would include approx 15-20 choices. All within VERY CLOSE walking distance.

if you are any kind of real baseball fan, DON'T go to Wrigley...:mj07:

bunch of yuppies that know nothing about baseball in a cramped, dirty, stinking cesspool of a stadium is not my idea of a good time.

best advice is to scalp your tix and grab a few cold ones at the Billy Goat Tavern instead...

it helps to know the city a bit, but we used to park on the street a couple of miles north of Wrigley and ride the Red Line down. It stops right outside the stadium and for a couple of bucks each way you save the hassles of trying to park nearby and you have that more $ left for some cold Old Style...:cheers:

Compared to what, Butt-wiper or a Miller product? If its domestic, mass- produced swill, I agree, they all suck. Old Style just sucks less than the others.

Actually, Old Style is the beer sponsor of the Cubs' radio broadcasts and its sold in the stands. Old Style has always been a big seller in Chicago, hence my comment about having an Old Style at the Billy Goat.
