There went AR's firefighter...but one hellua showing....

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 14:28:00
Title: Patrick Hayden Eliminated in 48th Place ($173,880)
Log: Patrick Hayden is short stacked and all in with Jc-7s, and he's up against Greg Raymer's Ac-Kc. The flop comes 10s-7d-2s, and Hayden takes the lead with a pair of sevens. Raymer will need to catch a king, an ace, or a runner-runner straight to eliminate the New York City firefighter. The turn card is the Qc, giving Raymer four more outs. He can now catch a jack, a king, or an ace (10 outs). The pro-Raymer crowd cheers as the ace of spades falls on the river, giving Raymer a higher pair to win the pot.

Patrick Hayden is eliminated in 48th place, earning $173,880.

...looks like Watkinson is gone now also....

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 15:02:00
Title: Lee Watkinson Eliminated in 45th Place ($235,390)
Log: Lee Watkinson goes all-in preflop with 9h-4d, and is called by John McGrane who holds Ks-Jh. The flop comes A-2-6 and Watkinson has a bit of a lead when a 4 hits on the turn, but when the river brings a Jack, Watkinson is eliminated. McGrane's stack is now at about $750,000.

...fawking Mike the Mouth going really strong....

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 14:40:00
Title: Matusow More Than Mouth
Log: Farzad Bonyadi raised preflop and Mike Matusow re-raised, Bonyadi called. The flop came J-10-2, and again Matusow fired at the pot. The turn was a 5, and Matusow bet out $250,000. Bonyadi called that bet too. The river was the 5h, and Matusow moved all in. Bonyadi went into the tank, but eventually folded. Matusow showed 6-2 for a pair of two's and won the pot. Matusow is now up to $4,00,000, and Bonyadi has $1,300,000 left.

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 14:42:00
Title: Matusow Cracks $4 Mil
Log: Mike Matusow has just cracked the $4,000,000 chip mark, and he is now the chip leader.

...another big stack gets knocked out....

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 16:35:00
Title: Farzad Bonyadi Eliminated in 41st Place ($235,390)
Log: Before the flop Farzad Bonyadi was all in and against Tex Barch. Barch flipped over A-A, while Bonyadi was way behind with his A-K. The flop gave Bonyadi some hope as it came K-6-2. Bonyadi needed another king to stay alive, but got none. Bonyadi was eliminated in 41st place and earns $235,390. Barch is now over $4,000,000.

...and a couple of guys that are making runs....

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 16:14:00
Title: Tex Barch Doubles Up
Log: Tex Barch was all in against Farzad Bonyadi. After a flop of A-Q-9 all the money went into the pot. This was a very large pot at this point with the winner getting about $2,500,000. Barch was all in with A-Q, and Bonyadi held A-K. Barch needed to dodge a K to double up. The turn was a 5 and the river was a 7 allowing Barch to doubled up to $2,500,000.

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 16:22:00
Title: Kondracki Doubles Up
Log: Brad Kondracki pushes all-in preflop, and is immediately called by Franklin Caldwell, who shows K-K. Brad Kondracki shows 10-9. The flop comes Q-J-8, and Kondracki flops a straight. The turn is an Ace, giving Caldwell a straight draw, but the river is a 2. Kondracki doubles up to $1.4 million while Caldwell is left with only $250,000.

...man, I love this shit!!! :)

No problem Josh....

28 Players Remain - Play Will End For Today When One More Person Get Knocked Out

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 20:18:00

Title: Michael Kessler Doubles Up Through Tim Phan

Log: Michael Kessler and Tim Phan are both all in preflop. Kessler has Ah-Kc against Phan's pocket queens (Qs-Qd). It's a race situation as the flop comes 10d-10s-6s. Phan holds on to the lead, and Kessler needs to catch a king, an ace, or a tough runner-runner straight draw to stay alive. The turn card is the Ad, and Kessler makes a higher pair. Now Phan needs to catch one of the last two queens to eliminate Kessler. The river card is the Jh, and Michael Kessler doubles up through Tim Phan.

After the hand, Kessler has about $2,400,000, while Phan is knocked down to $2,050,000.

For the record, Tom Sartori went over to the bleachers after the hand and told his supporters that he folded pocket tens, which would have flopped quads. I asked him if he was serious, and he looked at me rather disappointed and said, "I swear to God." He would have eliminated a player (ending today's action) and tripled up. There's good luck, there's bad luck, and then there's those times when you make the proper play, but wish you hadn't.

Howard checks again, and this time Ivey bets $600,000. After a moment, Howard calls. Ivey shows 5-5 for a set of 5's. Howard mucks. Two thoughts....

1) End this damn thing, I want to go to bed. Someone just go all-in with 2-7 offsuit please...

2) Johnny Howard has either had the most incredible 20 minutes of his poker life (and maybe anyone elses poker life), or there is a huge error in this chip count update. How does someone go from 1.8 million to 8 million that fast and not eliminate anyone???? I am not fully trusting that these numbers are correct...

Player Amount Table Seat
Johnny Howard $8,000,000 118 9
Phil Ivey $4,600,000 118 1

Ok, that makes more sense. Johnny Howard has 800,000, not 8,000,000 chips. Hahahahaha. Oops. Error corrected on their website.
