I don't know how well this is known nationally. The half pint puke writer that bailed on the Sun Times, Marrittidagofuk, was EXTREMELY hated by the entire WSox organization. From the owner to the after game street cleaners. The team went into a roar in their locker room the other day, not because they just beat the O's, but it was disclosed to them this particular writer was out of the city after 19 years. The team is not exactly on fire right now splitting 4 with the O's (one game was the continuance of a suspended contest from earlier). Also, Minny has been doing what has been expected, shitting the bed on the road expanding the window a bit. The former Yankee Vasquez, has done well in two of his last three (wins vs high school teams) but in his last 10 or so he's been extremely week. The pen has been scratching away for a month or so but is honestly not the strongest part of the program right now. I know Boston is coming off a series vs the deadly Yanks but that wasn't a normal Yanks series and I doubt it was all that much of a draw on the team. They're finished and Boston knows that. Now Boston receiving some bad news about their happy to eat pitcher in Becket may light a fire under their ass. The best way to beat Dice is to run run run on him. That's one thing the Wsox can't can't can't do. (They use the bat boy in NL games to pinch run.) The WSox are in a bit of a let down situation here vs a monster pitcher they don't have the tools to beat against a team with a wild card hard on as Minny drops games.

I'm throwing some of Marine's 1st communion money on Dice. A quick look tells me when the WSox loose, it's usually by more than a run. They lost by one run once this month and 4 times in July. I'll lay the RL.

fwiw

The way people are on SF you'd think Bonds came back to the line up with a full syringe. I'll take the chalk there also.

Not trying to convince Bucs. Just hate seeing people tackling the 1st dog they find a good reason to play lately and the Wsox are looking mighty nice to many. If I see "this play has value" one more time, I might stop swearing for ever. Might.

Plus I like to give some local insight on the teams here if possible.

The White Sox had their top scouts at Wednesday night's Astros-Reds game. Roy Oswalt pitched that one, but he won't be traded. The Reds still have some good trade candidates in the bullpen (David Weathers has cleared waivers, Jeremy Affeldt is a free agent after the season).
