You can't make that comparison. And don't tell me there are no guns in China.

You're never going to take all the guns away.

There is no reason why the woman that owned the gun(s) shouldn't have it.

I say take them all away but that will never happen.

You're wasting your time with your argument.

What a horrible thing for that to happen today in that community, or any community. Just fucking horrible.

Wow.

of course there are guns in china. they're all owned by the government. which has killed at least fifty million of its own people since the gun controllers (communists) took over.

guns are for protection against poliiticians and their enforcers. if weak minds like airportis can't handle them, then they shouldn't acquire them. for adults, it's their right, and they're crazy not to have them, given what's going on in our society today.

Look at the title of the thread. I am more than willing to show you dolts the idiocy of your argument in the correct forum.

I will give you a hint, start your argument with some type of substantive proof that regulations will solve the problem. Your arguments have no merit. Was the Valentine's day preventable by gun control? Was the issue back then when murder and robbery were rampant for those times as well, gun control or lack thereof? The fact of the matter is that we are becoming an increasingly violent society. That increased violence is exactly proportional to societies level of tolerance and apathy toward the root causes. The availability to a Bushmaster .223 a Sig-Sauer and a glock have no more to do with those deaths than the graphics in the Halo games or the Black Ops games. Regulate all you want. Murderers murder, period. This was a premeditated act, it was not happenstance. If some kid in a school was taking a class and found the teachers uzi laying on her desk and shot the place up, maybe then you have some metal to your argument. Premeditated slaughter of innocent children has zero to do with the laws of the land. Hell the death penalty didn't bother the fucker what makes you think a thirty day waiting period would? Or a background check? You don't think this fucker hasn't killed a bullfrog or kitty cat in his day? Give me a break. That is exactly what pisses me off about the whole thing. Certain people posting in this thread have made little or no mention of the sadness of this shooting. You have spent the entire thread trying to blame the government or lack thereof for societies failures. Most likely the same people that don't want teachers telling their kids to shut up and sit down, or failing them when they deserve it. You want more regulation right up until you scream that there is too much government. It is bullshit. Then one of you try to paint anyone that disagrees with your view as an ignorant gun fucking redneck. Yes, you make excellent stupid points.

Hope that helps,

We have the highest murder rate period. Highest with knives, highest with rope, drugs, hate related, race related...............every single category we win.

you say the problem is we are becoming an increasingly more violent society.

ok, so you think as the society as a whole becomes more violent that these type of ridiculous weapons should be readily available to purchase by these violent individuals?

knives and rope arent tools made for one purpose, to kill. people will misuse things anywhere but guns are only made for one use. to kill things.

to say the availability of these weapons has no bearing on these events is fucking ludicrous. if assault rifles were not readily available to buy, how can you even dispute the idea that the assault rifle related murders would be less?

From 2006-2010 67% of homicides by firearms.

If you are trying to solve this problem does it not make common sense to try and fix the 67% problem?

Just a few questions..

1. Why were Mexico and other countries ommitted from gun related countries of the world chart?
Thought media was suppose to present facts..not just promote agendas.
http://www.aneki.com/countries2.php...ll&cntdn=asc&r=&c=&measures=Country--Homicide Rate (per 100,000)&units=--&file=homicide

2 Why is Chicago who has strictest gun laws in country..the murder capital of U.S.

3.flip side...why did right to carry laws reduce murder rates in states they were enacted?
http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/...-reduce-crime-debate-has-raged-at-u-of-c.html
Before the states passed right-to-carry laws, their number of mass shootings per 100,000 people was .0136. After they passed right-to-carry legislation, that figure dropped to .002 per 100,000 people an 84 percent drop, his study found.

4 ..and last but not least
You ..your spouse..or your children are confronted by deranged idiot like this guy..who do want in near proximity..a citizen that is packing or one that isn't...and what are chances as he starts to fire that you might reconsider your stance of "I'm glad I don't have a gun.

Of course it did its horrible...

Just posting video I saw today about it

It's sickening what happened, this kid was deranged

I've also heard some 'professionals' on the news say this kid is 'obviously deranged'.

I don't buy it....I believe deranged is someone eating their shit in the middle of the street...

This kid knew exactly what he was doing.. planned out...body armor...killed his friend then drove to mothers house, killed her, then went to school....got buzzed into the school..took out adults in office..then spent his time killing kids in his MOTHER'S class...

nope, I don't buy deranged...

anti-social...i'll buy it
insane...nope
deranged...nope
off medications..umm. don't think the action would be an immediate result.
psycotic break...ummm..50/50...

PURE EVIL....thats my guess....

FUK the world, and I'm taking out what my family, espicially my mother, loves the most.....kids...

JM2C.....i'm cool with banning assult weapons...but your not getting my handgun....:nono: :nono:

assuming owning a gun makes you trained in taking down an armed and probably armored attacker with his weapon (probably more efficient than your pistol) already drawn.

the rambo fantasy really needs to stop as it is just that. a fantasy. not sure why gun nuts get such a hard on for this idea.

many wrong points in your interpretation of what happened. i havent heard anything about him killing his friend and then driving to his mothers house, unless that is something new. he lived with his mother.

also, his mother wasnt even a teacher at the school.

Hey Wayne, good to see you.

1. That chart did note Mexico was not included. It also notes that it is for the "Developed World". I'd happily cede #1 to Mexico, but that doesn't change our position against all those others. Also, this chart is gun related, the one you linked to includes all homicides.

2. I don't know that Chicago is #1. Also, I think this is a bit of a red herring argument.

3. The time frame discussed in this article attributes crime reduction to hand guns. I think the best connection comes in the book Freakonomics, which attributes it to the lack of unwanted criminals birthed from Roe v Wade.

4. This is such a great argument for CCW, but it NEVER happens this way. I always hear how great this is in the event it happens, but I never hear about this fairy tale ever coming true. Never.

in the recent shootings, some of the contributing factors appear to anger, mental illness or instability and access to firearms. I know we cannot eliminate mental illness or heated reactions, but we sure as hell can reduce gun availability.

Federal law everyone has right to carry would stop these mass shootings not taking away guns...these liberals just don't get it
