WTF was June Jones thinking?

He could have run out the clock or at least come close but he decided to throw it. Now he's going into OT. Not that I'm complaining, I've got Houston, but what a bone head move.

Trying to cover the number June?

Also, congrats to the overs bettors. Talk about a lucky break.

Was thinking the same thing. Would be amusing to see Houston win in OT...

I honestly think he was trying to cover the number. Not that he has a stake in it, but it could be an ego thing. I hope they lose.

honestly, i would agree with that. june jones aint betting the game. thats stupid. but these coaches have big time egos (ESPECIALLY coaches who run wide open pass offenses) and i dont think its absurd to think its a "game within a game" for them. kinda like another challenge.

Exactly. I'm sure he knows how millions of bucks are probably out there on his team. A litte extra respect, you know?

BTW Gman, your boy LeBron is just filthy.

If he was trying to cover the number, why did he run two plays? Besides Chang and the receiver was laughing coming of the field and looking up at the screen to see how "close" it was. I do hope the Rainbow Warriorettes take it up the shoot in OT. I had them and the under. Hope Houston gets a turnover!!!!!!!!!!!

Huh? You mean why didn't he go for it on fourth down or why did he run the ball on 1st and 2nd? I'm, not saying he wanted to cover that bad, just saying he threw on third down to try and get it in the endzone. He's not crazy, maybe just foolish.

Under is a loser  cause he know that the rainbows can stop anything.

Well, I have had a crappied day and this is a just ending.
Lost the cavs and under in OT. Lost the lakers under by a half point. And now I am going to go 0-2 on this crap ball game. . .But like it says below

"every play makes someone happy!!!"

jeff:

i honestly find it puzzling that some people question whether or not lebron was the right choice at #1 (there is a contingent here and elsewhere that believes carmelo is a better player). perhaps the last 2 weeks wisened them up. i never ever buy into hype. but what that kid is capable of is disgusting.

as an aside- hopefully the holiday has been a good one for you. always appreciated your work/posts here on the site. no better time to give you the credit due.

these run 'n shoot guys will keep trying to score even when it's stupid to do so. it's like they can't stop. that was how the oilers lost to buffalo in that playoff game several years ago. there's no excuse for it.

I don't know who is better Carmelo or Lebron - but the Cavs had to take Lebron #1 - he's worth his weight in gold in marketing let alone his on the court ability.

As for this game, my only play was Hawaii 2H, and wow I hate having to sweat this out now. Wish they would have blocked that PAT I would of covered and Jones would have lost :thefinger .

blackman:

i dont necessarily disagree with that. youre right, his marketability is part of the package too. ive always liked carmelo, but i dont see superstar in anthony. i see perennial all-star. i think 5-7 yrs from now, lebron will be top 3 or 4 in the league. melo will be top 10. cant go "wrong" per se with either guy, but james is about as cant miss as they come.

gl with your hawaii 2h. never should have come to this, thats for sure
