This game opened @-27.5 and is now down to 21??
I can't find any reason why, especially with wva coming off a bye week? Does somebody know something I don't?

?

Load up on the Mountaineers, COD LOCK. I've picked every game correctly on MSSTATE this year and will be at the game as usual. If I wasn't clear enough load up, load up, load up

Ok let me re-phrase, WVU players and coaches think they are playing for a national title and will look to be impressive against an SEC team. Although a bottom tier SEC team

Did you once get beat up in Morgantown? This reminds me of last basketball season.

:nono:

Everybody else is playing for second this year. :SIB

im not sure how much more credit i can give to west virginia. ive been hyping them as being a legit top 10 team since before the end of last season. theyre very very good. but national championship talk is just beyond stupid.

Should WVU just forget they are ranked #4?

I sincerely doubt if USC or Auburn run the table...WVU will be a double digit dog versus OSU in Glendale come January...book it.

Louisville is too soft to beat WVU.

See you in the desert :sadwave:

lets revisit this after the louisville game. im not going to say anything bad about west virginia because theyre an excellent football team. though i still laugh every time i look at the polls and see that two morons gave wvu a first place vote. that is beyond preposterous considering what osu, florida, usc, and michigan have done up to this point. we'll see how it shakes out. w/o bush, the playing field is leveled and wvu could win that game. but their secondary is not good and if brohm is healthy, theyre in trouble in that dept. we'll come back to this in a month.

Put WVa in teh SEC East and they would be thinking about the Independence Bowl.

Look, they are a good team, but if they play in Glendale it just shows how screwed up the system is. To play that OOC schedule and then the Big Least is a joke....

Wilson is right that they may end up in Glendale...although I still think they lose to LVille and even if they dont there are going to be at least 2 unbeatens ahead of them....and frankly just about any BCS one loss team should be ahead of them as well. For example..assume unbeaten Ohio State beats unbeaten Michigan, or vice versa. Is somebody other than a couch burner going to say with a straight face that West Virginia should be ahead of either of them, or a one loss Florida/Auburn/LSU/Tennessee/Georgia?

gman an excellent football team doesn't have a mediocre defense and a quarterback who can't pass. Then again i think the national title is up for grabs so what do i know?

until someone truly shuts down their offense, i cant be overly critical of them. like you said, their defense is lame. a healthy louisville team would have won by 10+ in their november meeting. but i think the playing field is leveled now. if that team is national championship caliber, then thats an indictment of the quality of football being played this fall around the country. wvu is solid. their offense is explosive. but they would get steamrolled by ohio state or a healthy southern cal. their defense is just not good enough. you dont win national championships with that kind of D. but they can run the football against anyone and that gives them a punchers chance.
