not sure if someone already mentioned this new....but I enjoy it very much.

Yes I hear Bowden likes the thought of "country roads take me home, to the place I was born...west virginia mountain momma take me home" but as my wee lil friend sunshine scooter corso would say....NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!........looks like there is a silver lining to this dark cloud and his name is Bud Foster.

Thats right Bud Foster VT's defensive co has thrown hisown name into the mix and his agent says he is very interested. Now I know some will say Bud Foster the guys all defense.....but LOOK at the players HE recruited...the list is long and very all americanish. I have said I enjoy defensive football and IMO there is no one better than setting his players up and getting the most out of them than Foster.......

very sad to see RR leave but if foster is his replacement....Rich don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you. The offense will take care of itself...that will be called noel devine... but with foster and some of his guys it is gonna be a new type of hard nosed football WVU fans will enjoy.

Hell have two head coaches....Bowden on offense and Foster on defense... pay them the beline and rod mich buy out money.

cheers

Good read on why RR left Morgantown:

http://postgazette.com/pg/07352/842541-144.stm

Perhaps he's not the villain everyone thinks he is?

That story is such bullshit.

Let's see, you leave a 1.9 million dollar job because employer will not allow a 5 dollar discount to hs coaches and the players don't get to keep your books to sell at the end of the year (probably a ncaa violation)

The cat was looking for a way out and is now looking to weasel out of the buyout.

If you would just look beyond the surface, its pretty evident this guy is a pathological liar.

Bud Foster becomes my alma mater's coach...I will slit my wrists.

In 2 years at Tulane, he rubbed all kinds of folks the wrong way around here. Uncouth seems to be common 1 word description. Curious if it is the same case in WV ?

Regardless, I wish he had slid to LSU.

I feel that Les may lead LSU directly to the mediocrity of the mid 90's. For example, this recruiting class appears less than stellar, and the team is playing in the BCS title game.

Dont know about mediocrity but hes like 34-6 in 3 years so hes doing something right. QB Jefferson would start next year if Perriloux wasnt there.

I love the Hokies as I have family there, so it would be sad to see Bud Foster leave.

That said, I hate to pigeon hole anybody, but he strikes me a career assistant......i hope he does not go to WVA for his sake and for WVA's sake, or VT's defense sake.

Can Terry B still coach....man has it been a long time, it would be interesting to see if he still has it.....kinda like Vermeil in the NFL, how long was he out before he landed with the Rams? Well over a decade. It started out poorly, but boy did it end with a bang in St Lewey!

Is Jimbo Fisher locked in stone as next in line at FSU. Can WVA make a play for him? More importantly, for the WVA guys on the board, should WVA make a play for him?

Others than those listed, any thoughts on who you want?

I think fisher would be a good hire for WV. He's from there, but it seems like he has a sweet deal at FSU right now.

It is most likely between two candidates...Terry Bowden or Doc Holiday. Probably Bowden.

Whichever guy gets the job...they have one hell of an offense returning.

I'm told Butch Jones flew to Morgantown to interview tonight.

Other than friendly academic admission standards, I don't think the WVU job is that attractive to any "big" name. Rodriguez did a helluva job there. Good luck. I expect a major drop off in the coming years, but who knows? Maybe they find another solid HC?

I agree. Their home state recruiting base is horrible, maybe a couple D1 players a class. Facilities? marginal at best. Tradition/name? not much there either. Morgantown?......uh, yeah. Plus it appears their AD is difficult to work with. Other than a creative admissions department, I'm not sure what WVU has going for it.
