So Christmas Eve is a regular travel day down to South Georgia to spend Xmas Eve with my wife's family.
Just like any family I could tell stories about feuds and things going on but I would rather not and just let sleeping dogs lie.
There were two things that happened that I thought were eventfull of a Christmas Eve night.
This group of three people were playing Jenga a game where you stack wood parts as high as you can without it falling. This one girl was playing and when the Jenga stack tipped over towards her and crashed on the table, it scared her or someting and she fell backwards in the chair and crashed on the floor. She was ok so it is ok to laugh now I guess.
When it fell and then she fell it was like
boom ........then a pause then.......BOOM!
So that was exciting.
So I got called into the kids room where all the kids were playing Old Maid. Its a card game and doesn't take a whole lot of thinking.
The way I was taught by my great grandmother was if you are going to play a game then you play for blood. You know the Vince Lombardi rules where you win at all costs.
So I am sitting there drinking a budweiser and playing the Old Maid game with Megan a 6 1/2 year old ( she corrected me twice) a 9 year old girl cousin and a 13 year old girl. So I am talking while we are playing like I usually do.
I tell Megan to stare at the Old Maid card in her hand so that I can easily pick it out and not take it. She shakes her head no and rolls her eyes around determined not to give me any help at all as she scans the cards in her hand.
I think I end up winning two and losing two.
When we quit Megan goes into the parlor and tells her mother ..... He cheats !
