Deadspin has seemed aggrieved all week. It seems that there is some merit to only using unnamed sources, sarcasm and innuendo.

Unnamed sources are definitely questionable. But when it is later determined that the agent of the football player with a fake dead girlfriend, is the one leaking the same information, unnamed sources really don?t matter.

Brett McMurtry of ESPN was on cfb daily today discussing the si and yahoo stories. He said that as a news outlet espn's job is to pick on the story and further the story if possible. he's been tasked with the okie st story, and says he's finding major discrepancies and factual errors that cast a lot of doubt on the story. said little info has been verified and a lot of information has been debunked.

conversely he said that the yahoo story is rock solid, and nailed down with loads of hard evidence.
