YANKEES/RED SOX Under 10 -120 - It seems strange to see a double-digit total in such an intense rivalry as this one. These clubs squared off 10 time here at Fenway Park last season, and the Under went 7-3 in those games. Wells is coming off of possibly his worst start of the season vs. Anaheim, but he has been rock solid overall, going 5-1 with a 3.26 ERA and an excellent ratio of 1.01. Furthermore, he has been even better on the road, going 3-0 with a 2.81 ERA and a scintillating 0.94 ratio away from home! In his last 2 starts vs. Boston, he allowed a total of 1 run and 10 hits in 15 innings, including 8 scoreless innings in his last start at Fenway. Casey Fossum was on every team?s wish list during the off season, and he is starting to show signs of why the Red Sox are so high on him. While consistency has been a problem, he does have 3 Quality Starts in his last 4 outings, so he may just now be ready to emerge as the future star he is projected to be. Also, the young southpaw catches a Yankee team that is hitting a terrible .174 vs. left-handed pitching over their last 10 games. Finally, the much beleaguered Boston bullpen has improved greatly as the season has gone on, and that unit?s ERA of 4.19 is now not much worse than the Yankee bullpen?s group ERA of 4.10.
