Blue Cross just notified me that my small group rates on my current block of business for 2014 will be going up between 36% to 52%. Thank you ObamaCare.

I am self employed...........I work around 20 hours a week out of my Royal Oak office. I've been in the health insurance business for 30 years. Before that I owned two retail stores in Royal Oak and Birmingham. Before that I was in the military.
Especially for businesses with fewer than 50 employees.
Boys, if you have less than 50 employees then you are exempt from ObamaCare. Did you know that?
Lastly, if your insurance carrier is raising rates because of ObamaCare then you are getting ridden like a mexican mule. Get a different carrier.
I'm not getting fucked Joker...........this rate increase was for a few of my small groups......BCBSM raised rates for small groups probably to make up some $$$ their losing??? Really I don't know why.
Yes, and I'm talking about the rates for Illinois and Colorado for 2014 for small groups.
Also past experience is still a huge factor for small groups on rate increases.

Any rates increases you read about for 2014 is speculation. I have never received renewal rates on any employer over 90 days prior to renewal date.
I can verify that Aetna and United Healthcare have withdrew from individual market in California in the past 30 days and expect more carriers and states to follow.
Of course we experienced this in Ky previously when our governor implemented Hilliary's health care reform plan years ago. Almost all carriers pulled out and we repealed plan few years later after chaos. See no way there won't be instant replay under this plan--they already see what's coming and backed off groups over 5o until after 2015 (more importantly 2014 elections).
