they wouldn't even declare a National Champion this year after this pathetic showing by both teams. . . horrible championship game IMO with all of these missed free throws and turnovers.

Just had to vent

Didn't have money on this game either way and simply wanted to see a good basketball game which I haven't seen up to this point. Will see you all occasionally in the MLB forum and definitely in college football when the season begins.

Absolutely pathetic game my friends. . . at least it was close at the end, but both looked like subpar teams tonight.

Neither team won the game tonight IMO. . . Kansas lost it, Cuse tried to lose it, then Kansas really lost it! LOL

Next year should be fun :D

Syracuse scored 42 points in the first 15 minutes and had 53 at the half.Against the vaunted Rock Chalk Defense.Whats so inferior about that?

nickelback- wasnt the "cleanest game" but my god- it was definitely one of the better title games of the last 5 years.

for christsake- if you want to talk about u-g-l-y games, maryland/indiana from a year ago would have easily surpassed this one in terms of ugliness.

One of the best title games in 5 years? Are you serious! Doesn't surprise me Gman as you and I always seem to differ on our perspectives about basketball and betting, but for a team to hit only 12 out of 30 free throws, shoot pathetic from long range, and only lose by 3 to the other team doesn't exactly make for even a good championship game even though it was obviously close at the end! It also doesn't show much for the team that was lucky to win given just how bad Kansas shot that ball from those two areas.

First half was fun to watch, 2nd half was absolutely horrid as both teams turned the ball over by making poor decisions and couldn't hit their charity shots which are so critical.

nickel:

never said it was a crisp game. but it was certainly better than maryland/indiana, duke/arizona, and msu/florida. duke/arz had a chance to be really good, but duke just overmatched arizona in the 2h. the 1h of that one was really good.

what was so bad about this game? syracuse kids were buzzed, jumped out to a huge lead. the kansas vets chipped away. made a HUGE PUSH early in the 2h to get it to 3, and syracuse showed some nads by pushing it back out.

then kansas tried to make one last effort.

ill take a sloppy ncaa game over a decently played nab playoff game any day of the week.

by no means was this game well played- but for once, at least the game had some drama.

Again Gman, we simply have different opinions as to what makes for a good championship game. . . to me, drama means absolutely nothing if neither team is playing good basketball and that's what we had tonight in the 2nd half. . . obviously a lot of heart and desire as you would expect, but not the type of execution that makes for a good/well played basketball game that is deserving for the last game of the year.

The 53 points in the first half by Syracuse was an ALL TIME FINALS RECORD.To say that the team that set that record sucked and a game with a first half like that wasn't a championship game just shows you are somehow pissed off about the outcome or weren't watching objectively.Bet if Arizona won a championship in a game like that you wouldn't be so down on the quality of play.

Well, since Dizzayton (congrats to Cuse by the way) brought this up to the top, I might as well respond to edludes post:

Again edludes, if you take a look at my previous posts under this thread, you will see that my discussion was about the 2nd half. . . nothing to do with the first half. . . correct me if I'm wrong, but games do go for two halves right? Again, the first half was fun to watch and Cuse shot lights out. . .

But to say the 2nd half was championship worthy is an absolute joke. . . also edludes, just because a record is set during the game doesn't mean that it makes the game championship worthy. . . especially when it is regarding one half of basketball.

In response to if Arizona was in Cuse's position, I would say that my team got damn lucky and I would also say that they weren't championship worthy that night but at least they found a way to win it. . . Cuse fans can say the same. . . for Cuse to win by only 3 with Kansas shooting the way they did makes the Orangemen damn lucky on paper. . . but I suppose most would rather be lucky than good anyways.

Next year should be fun and it will be a nice break for Arizona to step back just a little from the spotlight.

Agreed 2nd half was damn ugly, BUT it was exciting as hell and I know I was on the edge of my seat. It showed real heart for this SU team to storm back to a DD lead after KU cut it to 3 and had all the momentum, but I agree missed free throws and TO's made the game ugly. Josh Pace was the MVP of the 2nd half as SU was getting worked on the glass and he came in and got about 8 boards and a couple key baskets too. This Syracuse team was truly a COMPLETE team, anthony simply made them Championship caliber because he is go-to-guy when the offense was cold. I just find it hard to believe that nickelback didn't find the game more exciting than recent championship games.
