Is this a recent incident I have not seen anything about this on the news. I am just sickened by this there were so many other ways to resolve this with out this lady being beaten. This man should be totally ashamed of himself if one of my boys ever did this to a woman I would have a very hard time standing up for him.

Seeing that you live in Athens, you might be referring to the UGA police. I can somewhat understand where you are coming from. Those guys are merely high profile mall police which mostly have Napolean complexes. I would agree that the lot of them are mostly douche bags.
Police officers, overall, are heroes merel for putting up with the shit they have to on a daily basis. these videos are flamboyant examples of the bad seeds.
Actually I am was not speaking directly about UGA police because I have not had any interaction with them. However I have had encounters with many police from different areas. These videos are more the typical attitude of every male police officer between 25-48. Police are just as sneaky and underhanded as the ones they are after. I have watched my black friends be railroaded and treated very differently than any police would ever get away with doing to someone with money. I think that if every police encounter was taped by that closely there would miliions more tapes on the internet of bad cops. Not necessarily beating people but if you check the posts by VANURSEm there are plenty of chest beating assholes who hide behind the badge

Personally, I believe that, for the most part, the mental make-up that attracts certain people to this type of work is the exact opposite of the mental make-up of people who need to be in this profession, hence, the napolean complexes.
My old man used to say, "You can take the best guy in the world...put a gun and a badge on him and within 6 months, he will be the sorriest SOB you've ever met."
I used to doubt his sincerity, but the more I have to deal with some of these assholes on their ego-trips, the more I think that he was right.
I'm not trying to offend any cops on MJ's...just relating my personal experience.

The point wasnt just about this cop who beat the shit out of a woman in handcuffs, it includes the other videos posted of incompentent or overzealous cops. The thing is that there are a VERY FEW good cops, but idiots like these overwhelmingly are running the streets. I would like one day when all cops have to take there badges off and stand up to all those they lied to, took advantage of, or ran there littles mouths all hiding behind a badge.

BUT, I know enough to know that it's not a pissing contest when they confront you. You don't puff up your chest to show that that, "you ain't no bitch". You don't talk back to be heard. You don't give "attitude", becuse you feel you are getting some.
There are certain times you need to follow along, and some people refuse to do that. You might not like cops, but as a society, we gave them certain power over "us". You might not have as an individual, but tough shit.
Now, that CERTAINLY doesn't give them the right to shove your Chicklets down your throat for asking a question, but I will never give you the credit that "most cops" act that way. That is simply untrue.

I kinda like my brother as well.
The undercover drug stings he goes on I wouldn't do for five times the money he makes.
Think there is 13,000 Chicago Police officers. Even if 1% of them are committing acts against their oath, that still adds up to quite a few (130).
