How can I save a video to a file on my computer?

You Tube uses a flash based player for their videos meaning you can't just right click and save.

With Firefox, there is a plugin that allows you to save them.

I would go to google.com and type in "save youtube videos"

Without quotes, see what you get

YouTube doesn't always allow the standard right-click "save as" options. If you use the Firefox browser, there is a VideoDownloader add-on that can be found here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/

It will require you to change the extension of the file to "flv". Yah can then play the .flv file using this FLV Player:

Better than the FLV Player though, yah can also download a free video converter here:

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

This converter can convert practically ANY type of video file into any other video format yah want. I have yet to come across a file that it won't convert into any type of file I wanted.

I won't go into detail about how to use each of these utilities because instructions can be found either from the download sites or from the progams themselves. I will say from personal experience though that they do work well.

Enjoy!!!
