you know what zinky.

the more I think about it the more I think that this never happened. you cant pull the wool over our eyes without some of us seeing the yarn.

No way a sportsbook is going to transfer that amount of money to your account without about three managers signing off on it.

To prove me wrong I will provide you with a account number and you can transfer the funds to me. As a matter of fact I just got done with some good old boys in Nigeria and I need 30 K to color some cash. You can double your money !

I promise to take care of everything for you. ;) ;)

Hey never know I could save your life. Do the right thing zinky.

PS and one more thing. Someone in your situation doesnt say Great post ! they are too worried about their own ass to be complimenting others. But maybe thats just the kind of a guy that you are. And dont worry I have been called and accused of worse.

you should always do the honorable thing.....that doesn't necessarily mean giving it back....

aces gold is a case in point....these books aren't the most straight shooters you will find.....these books will sure take advantage of a mistake, but when they make one -- it can surely be argued that they should have to pay for it.....just like anyone who got screwed by aces or anyone who punches in a wrong number......

thats the nature of life....you make a mistake, you lose sometimes....you get an error in your favor, you capitalize.....

the honorable thing MIGHT be to keep the money.....i don't know....i would be honest and up front about stuff with the book first and foremost and go from there.....certainly do not run and hide....i would negotiate.....chips seem to be on jpzink's side of the table.....

we take risks when we put $$ in an offshore account unregulated by BBB and US laws.....

sportsbooks take risks when they hire incompetent workers.....

thats how it goes.....

Give 29K to all the people who were screwed by aces gold. Keep a dime for your troubles.

Seriously, it doesn't surprise me that people would ask this question, but I'd give it back in a sec, wouldn't even consider getting anything tossed my way as a thank you, but would be happy if it happened. You're screwing the sportsbook that provides the service to you, possibily an employee who made and honest mistake, and possibly a lot of other gamblers (read us) if this 30K loss has a serious effect on this book's bankroll.

quick story:
I was golfing in high school once, and found $200 in an envelope on the course. I turn it in. It was some guy's whole paycheck. He didn't even leave me $10 but later that summer, my old man and I won the member-member low net, and had bet ourselves across the board in the "parimutuel" thing they had going. Took home about $250 in cash and credit. KARMA.

I have contacted them and let them know that I will be paying the money back. I didn't mind saying that there should be a payment structure in place and that something should be worked out.

We will see what happens. I am under the impression if you don't ask, you want recieve.

I am waiting for a response, and will keep you informed.

How did you take it out? If you did take it out and this really happened, why on earth should there be a payment structure? It is their money, not yours. If you spent some of it that is not their problem.

Also, I am just guessing here cuz I know squat about the banking industry, but a 30k "deposit" in your account and you pulling out 30k cash is sure to have raised some questions from your bank and wouldn't they have notified someone about it, like the IRS. Again, just guessing.

BahamaMama is right about potential problems with IRS. The magic number is 10K. Any deposit or withdrawel of 10K or more requires institution to fill out a form. In fact, if you are using cash to play BJ, craps, etc. - when you have forked out 10K or more, pit bosses will pull you out to sign the form,

Another classic by the eminent Doc. If it means stealing 30,000 dollars, 'that's how it goes'. In another of your posts, you opine that the honorable thing to do might *not* be to pay it back. And that he should negotiate, after all their at his mercy. Wow!

Whether this story is true (doubtful) or not, it does shed light the character of people who chose to chime in. Obviously, the right answer is that you pay it back immediately. Come on guys, there can't be *that* many thieves around here. I personally know that there are a few, but jeez.

I doubt that there are many thieves amongst gamblers.

It seems like such a honest profession down through the ages.

The posters who told jpzink to either keep the money or "negotiate" for a reward think it is an easy way to make a buck. They say this because they think that because the BM is offshore & they are in the states the BM couldn't find them. But when you sign up offshore, the BM requires info from the player.
The BM could pay someone the same money that jpzink wants to negotiate, to find him & set an example. I wonder if these same people would still say to keep the money if they knew there was a chance that they would be caught. Probably not.
