As my wife is from E town, I have learned to appreciate Makers Mark, cant imagine a derby party with the julips made from anything but Makers
I have actually toured the plant in Loretta, where you cant buy any(dry county) but can sampple.

I don't know if it is still the case, but an "official" mint julep used to be made with Early Times. ET is actually pretty good bourbon for the price. It costs the same as Beam and Jack maybe a little less.
Two really good everyday bourbon are Kentucky Tavern and Walkers Deluxe. They are both cheap and mix well with water and soft drinks.

AGED Jameson is awesome. Had that once at an Irish B-Day party were the ol man was indoctrinating his son into the good stuff

One more vote for Makers. But I seem to remember drinking a supertanker full of good old Weller 90 proof in the college.
Since I am still in college, it is typically Kentucky Tavern.
If I am at my parents house, or they are around it is always Makers Mark. I just received a personalized bottle with my name on it for the Ole Miss v. LSU game on Nov. 19. I wonder if i will be able to wait that long before opening it?
