Ok lets say you just got the Job at OSU as either the head coach or AD.

What would you do to turn around the Team?

Who would you bring in for Assistant coach's or head coach?

What would you do to the schedule?

Along with other things that you think need to change what would you do?

I bring this up because a lot of people put down OSU as a team that sucks in the big games. They say there slow and dumb and so forth. You got to remember you main recruitment grounds are in and around the state of Ohio with only maybe 30% of your players coming from other regions.

1. Buy a stopwatch and tell Tressel that every scholarship player that can't beat the average time of SEC players at their position loses their scholarship.

2. Tell the BIG 10 that you are withdrawing from the league at first opportunity unless they add another team and set up a conference championship game. Notre Dame would be the prestige addition - dont worry, Joe Pa can't live forever, you'll only have to listen to him moan for a little while.

3. (This goes for the BIG XII ADs as well) Look into this thing called "Defense" you heard so much about in your last BCS championship game(s). Steal a defensive coordinator from one of the SEC schools (Texas knows what I'm talking about here, so ask them if you're not sure) and recruit the players they think you should recruit.

4. Get rid of the sleeveless sweaters.

I really think that Tressel is a great coach, but right now, setting up to compete in the Big 10 isn't good enough, for who knows what reasons. If Pete Carroll just built his teams to win in the Pac-10, they wouldn't have won their recent title or come so close the other times. You have to watch what EVERYONE is doing, not just those in states that eat a lot of sausages.

I'm hoping Rich Rod is thinking outside the Big 10 box and is going to do what Stuckinnj advises. Last year was brutal and this year will be difficult as well, but hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnell. I don't know why the Big 10 wants to continue to live in the 70's. They need a 12th team and a championship game. Its ridiculous that they won't even consider it.
