So awesome for the kid to get his first big league start in his hometown. Coached against him as he is from one of our rival High Schools(East Paulding). Would imagine he will have a huge amount of support in the stadium given we are just 30 minutes from Turner field. Cant even imagine what he will be feeling Tuesday night!

Too bad he is a major asshole and thinks his shit don't stink. My buddy out here in Vegas covers the Minor League team here and Wheeler has been know to shun the media and big time the reporters. There was an article in the NY Post about a week ago about it. How will he be able to handle the lights of the big city when he can't even handle the dimming lights of Cashman field....

Would love to see the article you refer to if you don't mind. Quick google search and cant find it or the negative perception of him you describe. Having said that, I knew him before being a top ten pick and millionaire

Rarely are any prospects at the time of their call up, starting pitching has always been such a demand it pressures clubs to bring them in before they truly want to. A great angle Inuse to play was going against pitchers in their debut or first return from the DL.

His fastball hasn't been consistent. Not enough movement. I have him in a keeper league so I hope he does fine but I see some brutal outings.
