Yeah, I really can't believe how Arizona lost this game today. . . I would have thought they would own the second half yet Washington was the team with guts and got back in the game. I really felt this game was all or nothing for Arizona. . . a win and they are in the national title hunt, a loss and well, they are like 64 others that come out losers in the big dance.
This game was hand picked for them. . . two easy wins against a Husky squad that had to survive two games yet the Huskies get the win. . . I can't see Arizona making any noise at all. . .

well summed up, nickel, as the FH closed with UW outhustling zona for every looseball I kicked myself for not tryign to middle, then zona finsihed game same way--amazing, but UWs depth is superb and I shoulda factored that
Yeah, I was feeling great at the half. . . funny, I am still sitting here absoultely stunned at what happened. . . its not because of the money that I lost on this one. . . it wasn't even close to some of my other losses this season but knowing this team the way I feel like I do just made it that much worse. In the second half they honestly looked scared because Washington was threatening them. . . it didn't make them play better, instead they folded.
Can't see them winning a game in the tourney that they shouldn't. . . so basically, that should mean the Cats fall in the Sweet Sixteen. There's always next year and deep down I think its good for Salim to be moving on because it will force several others to step up. . . Arizona relied too much on him today and it cost them IMO

exactly, Nickel, i was riding my bike after the game thinking to myself about one man teams ala iverson, old tmac with magic, kobe, KG (now), and when I thought of zona I asked who else can actually hit a shot--or wanted to today?

i used to just respect the heck outta Lute, thought he was best coach in nation; in last 2 years he has dropped at alarming rate; his teams are dumb or soft, I feel its closing in on time for him to consider retiring, hes lost a ton of great coaches too, which happens, but has he replaced them, do the kids still listen? ... I heard some distrubing things about program thru blue chip kids here in washington ... just dont see his legend shining nearly as bright as used too, and it hurts me to say so

Not sure if I would go that far. . . what have they said about Arizona's program? They are still recruiting extremely well and bringing in incredible talent. . .last year was a down year, this year much better but still not in comparison to 2001.
This game was disappointing to be sure but look at their record! Six losses for the entire year going to the big dance is nothing to hang your head on either. . . yes, I expected more and I don't think they will reach the final four from what I saw today but only four teams will reach it this year. . . several others will fail.
Lute has made this team look incredible at certain times of the year. . . unfortunately I don't think this team plays as well together as others like Illinois. . . what can you do? It's certainly not a proven science and its not like Illinois won't have down years or any other team for that matter
