just familiar with it on golf courses. WOuldn't recommend it for your yard. Also, I could be mistaken, but I think that grass needs a milder climate than New Jersey.
It should grow anywhere south of interstate 70. You would need to buy it from a sod farm. The crap they advertise in magazines is worthhless. It will only grow in full sun. It will not even live under trees. Meyer is a very good variety. After a few years it will need to be dethatched. Not a lot of work unless your yard is very large.
