.....he was more of a lurker, posted every blue moon. But a few nights ago he took his life. He grew addicted to sports wagering, it cost him financially severely, and it went into a downward spiral and he finally killed himself. He left a loving family in something I wish to never have to face someday. So PLEASE, to ANY of YOU out there, that MAY have a problem, think you may have a problem, or WHATEVER, its NOT worth your LIFE, and THERE IS HELP OUT THERE! Just thought id pass this along, it is truly a sad day.......May he RIP :sadwave:

Wow, were there any warning signs? What was his posting name?

God bless his soul.

I've got a friend at work who is a machine tech and makes about 80K/yr and he's always chasing himself. One day his wife came home and the electricity was turned off. Also, he's been known to forge forclosure papers to receive hardship loans through his 401K to pay his debts. He's a really good guy, has 2 kids, and married, but that bug's just has him in a mess. It's really sad.

God be with the member who took his life...

What an awful item of news. Thanks for posting Chopsticks. I have nothing but heartfelt sympathy for those he left behind....

I gamble almost everyday of the week. I would have bet basketball today, but I played golf and the gin afterward and gambled on both. I watch the paper for horses to bet on and even bet on the golf tourneys, but I have never felt the urge to "swallow both barrels"....I hope I never get to that point.

How and why people get to that stage is an enigma, and I cannot comprehend it...but I know it happens.

May this poor gentleman finally rest in peace.
