"I mean..."

Athletes now start their interviews off with "I mean..." Then every other sentence, it's "you know" and then "I mean". Of course then the occasional "you know what I mean."

"hate" itself is an ugly word

"shit happens" or "life's not fair" no - really?

and if you've ever heard an interview with Kenyon Martin, he holds dominion over the phrase "knowwhaimsayyin" - beginning of the sentence, middle of the sentence, end of the sentence...

Madjackers! I've been thinking... As much as we say we hate all the listed words and phrases above, to me... they're at least still ENGLISH.

I don't want to change the topic... but a few of the malls around my area now have signs and menus posted in both English and Spanish. What's worse is one of the malls is now run by 90% Hispanics. All the menus are written in Spanish. Oh, I have nothing against immigrants. It's just that I can't read Spanish and damn it... All the words and phrases we say we hate don't bother me as much as not being able to read a freakin' menu. I went into an asian market the other day and asked a Mexican stocker if they carry duck eggs. The guy looked at me with a smile and just said, "No speak Englay". What the hell has America come to?

The word hate is over used and miss used. I don't hate any words, some annoy me thou. I'd have to place hate at the top of my list.

Just saw this thread and can't believe nobody mentioned:

"FYI"

That is the worst, to me. Why the **** else would you tell someone something, other than for their information? Needless! :nono:

It ALWAYS seems to spout from the mouth of the douchiest boss or most annoying person in an office. And it has a condescending tone to it also!. ARGH!

Actually, the use of acronyms in general is pretty annoying. These words and phrases don't take THAT long to say, why the need to shorten them????
