You guys are on fire. 71% on Hawaii and 71% tonight on Central Michigan. Who are you guys on tomorrow? Never thought I would want to tail the public.
for what it's worth
I'm gonna say "square money" was driving the line down the last two/three days. "Sharp money" came in the last half hour before kick and bumped it up a bit. That tells me who the "sharps" were on if they existed and they gamble.
Exactly. Hate getting wrapped up in this, but when Central Mich starts at -11, line is driven down over a few weeks to -7, then spikes up a bit before kickoff, I wouldn't call the Centra Mich betters squares.
Didn't have a penny on this game but claims like this are ridiculous.
Public didn't drive the line from 11 to 7.5. Look at any consensus site and look at the % on Central Michigan. No way was the public on Middle Tennessee. Congrats guys but the public has been doing very well so far in bowls. We'll see if it holds up. Good luck!
Then what moved the line? Vegas looking for one sided action? I doubt it.
If you bought at +11 or 10.5, when it dropped to 7.5 or 7 it becomes a nice middle situation. Maybe someone knows, but would think that most money on bowl games would be public money, but not sure.
STWoody - read Konick's book I had a hard time swallowing all he had to say. There were some names there that didn't ring a bell, though I am no encyclopedia on sports book managers, etc. Interested to hear what more knowledgable people than me have to say about the book.
Sharp money moved the line. Sharp money is what always moves the lines...public money rarely will move a line 3-4 points if ever. That's all I'm saying. You see this all the time, public pounds one side and sharps pound the other and the line moves opposite of the public. Just happens the public was correct on Central Michigan.
