and, yeah, i keep it in my pocket because i don't like walking around wearing a 'holster' :mj07:i had it happen to me many times but i always turned it off by reaching into my pocket without taking it out.
here's a lengthy thread about the whole ordeal plus the video above.I'd like to hear the other guy's side to this story too. Just listening to Singer, I think I agree with him. What's fair is fair... The guy pulled out his ringing/vibrating phone, looked at the display, pushed a button, and then put it back. Sounds like a dead hand to me.
you pretty much need it at breaks. after so many calls i was getting last year, i just turned it off when i was playing. THAT'S what people should do because you're not supposed to use it anyway. doesn't make sense why people leave it on. not to me anyway.Why even let cell phones in the room? If im playing im leaving my phone at my hotel room.
very good arguments on both sides."Surveillance cameras confirmed that, A) the player in question did not look at his phone, and B) his only action was to silence the phone's ringer and quickly put it back into his pocket."
hmm, that's a little different, but still, sounds like he broke the rules.
i think the floor made the correct decision. the guy was not 'using' his phone except to silence the ringer. personally, i wouldn't have taken the chance but....I like the thread over at 2+2 simply because I think a situation like this, and what side you are on tells a lot about your character.
Anyone who think Singer wasn't angle shooting is crazy. What possible advantage could his opponent have gained by silencing his ringer? NONE!
Singer's money was already in the pot and his opponent called, without gaining an advantage from the phone, sheesh.
Singer=Crybaby

also, and i could be mistaken, but singer was AHEAD in the hand when the money went in and he was called. if he objected so badly, why didn't he make a scene BEFORE the hand was played out? :shrug:
instead of NOW?!

I thought he did call for the floor immediately when the guy went for his phone? :shrug:
