Who lives in Vegas?

yeah...that's one my regrets that i didn't do this when i was younger...now too comfortable where i am...
What about your wife & child? You dont seem concerned for them at all.

I have ZERO regrets about moving to Vegas. As for crime & such. All major cities have good and bad neighborhoods. The one you are looking at is crime-ridden & drug infested.
I live in Summerlin, where there is very minimal crime. never an incident in my allotment since I moved here. The reason being, that it is 9 miles from the strip, ( many closer places to the strip to commit crime), and, those types of people can't afford to live near my neighborhood.
Please reconsider your apartment. Please, for your best interest.
I don't care if you chose Summerlin, Henderson, or West Vegas, but please, please , please don't even think about living east of Las Vegas BLVD.
Besides the airport and hardrock, I don't go near the east side. It's better than North Las Vegas, but that's not saying anything.
There are HUNDREDS of rentals out here, and plenty of hotels/motels that offer weekly/monthly rates. Give it a second thought.
I would hate for you to move here to our GREAT city, and get turned off because you live in a toilet in the middle of a crack haven.
If you want unbiased opinions, call a realtor in Las Vegas, and tell them what you want.

DD i guess u won't be coming over in my area for barbeques and get togethers with our families :shrug: so i won't be inviting lol j/k........it's done man, they emialed me the pics of the place and had a long talk with the landlord.....everything is cool....i can deal with a little crime,no prob :0corn see u nevadans around in town :SIB

Not a bad location for $600, not real good either.
I rented room for two months few years ago at Eastern and Fremont. Way worse! Even found a broken crack pipe in room. I never had a problem, or saw one...probably lucky
bit further down Eastern at DI is better, with more middle-class type of stores. But $150 more a month and you can do much better, esp where schools are a concern.
You'll find the better spot for you and family after you stay and scope out the scene for a time, and find out where job is.... Hope you didn't sign too long a lease!

for a place to live, job, etc. One thing I observed
the whole time I was there, me and my crew
would go to a local pub and drink frosted mugs
of beer and shoot pool every Friday afternoon
at PT's pub I believe it was close to Las Vegas
Golf Course, and people would come in and cash
their paycheck and play video poker till it was
gone. Don't be one of those. And I know you
won't. What I'm trying to say is, don't get caught

Congrats on the move !! It takes a MAJOR set of cajones to pick up your chit and move to Vegas. A little overwhelming at first, but wouldn't trade it for the world. Lot's of guys would love to be in your position, but can't pull the trigger.

if you need ANYTHING at all furniture or appliance wise, the Las Vegas craigslist is a JACKPOT !! Lot's of people go broke and have to leave town, which makes for good deals !!

thanx guys! got good news this morning,the landlord called and told me hes gonna give me half off the first month to move in as a special :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour (sounds like a great guy, some landlords and apartment managers are assholes,like the one i have right now)
