Perhaps more importantly to me, the person that doesn't have designs on getting involved in a third 'war' over there.

i got news for you matt....if we don't do something about obtaining our own energy, there will be a war for oil no matter who the president is...

your dreaming if you think obama is going to get us out of the middle east....his position on iraq is changing everyday towards the right..but it's irrelevant because i am more convinced now that obama will need a guest pass to get into the white house after the elections....

Well, you might be right, but I think there's a better chance of redploying sooner with Obama. We simply can't continue on like this.

You know what? I have news for you also, Al.

We had no problem with oil in 2003. We had no problem getting it and it was around 1.15/gallon for gas. There was no threat of shortages from OPEC, no nothing.

So you tell me why we had to go to war for oil, as you're implying.

I don't really think Iraq was a war for oil, but it seems that you might.

If Israel bombs Iran, which is being pretty heavily suggested, look for our 4+ dollar gasoline to go to 5.50-6 and look for our market to drop even more than it has and look for the dollar to lose even more value.

THERE WAS NO 'ENERGY PROBLEM' IN 2003.

57 is obviously not what Obama meant. It was most likely 47, not 57.
However, he could have been thinking of the 57 Democratic Primaries. There are 57.
57 primaries =
50 States
+Plus
Washington, D.C.
+Plus
U.S. Territories
* American Samoa
* Guam
* Marianas
* Puerto Rico
* U.S. Virgin Islands
+Plus
Democrats overseas in other locations (United States Airmen, Marines, Soldiers, Reservists, Seamen overseas, U.S. ambassadors to foreign embassies, U.S. bases contractors, AAFES (BX/PX) employees, etc.)
=
57 Primary Locations

no i never believed the iraq war was/is about oil...but as i said the other day i believe that they should pay us back in oil for the blood, sweat, & tears that was spilled for this war.

i still don't think israel will bomb iran..because why would they broadcast it if they were going to do it....the others (iraq, ayria) they did without broadcasting it...

lol- Iraq owes US? Christ, how many of their citizens have we killed, either directly or indirectly? Their access to water, to electricity, to oil production is STILL below pre-Saddam levels.

Yes, they owe us. They should pay us. Huh?

I don't know either way, obviously. I give it a 50/50 chance. I DO know that if it happens, it will plunge this country even much further into malaise, which is pretty severe as it is.

i'm not going to debate the was all over again but yes i think that they should help us out with oil....either pay us back for getting rid of saddam or selling us oil at a reasonable price..

I'm not trying to debate the war in itself, but man.

Look at it from their point of view. By any realistic measures, there have been 50,000 civilians killed by us. There are some that say 125,000.

Let's say 50,000. That's 17 9/11's.

I realize that our affliction is that we only see things from Americas point of view as if there is no other view from any other country. It's simply what we think. We occupy for 5 years, they owe us.

What we will have done, as i've said a hundred times, is handed this country to Iran once we leave. Of course before that's established, there will be plenty of bloodletting in the form of a civil war that has of course already been going on. F*ck Al-Queda. I said before they even tried to infest Iraq that they would be repelled. They could never be welcomed there for a million different reasons, mostly regarding religion, of course. AQ has NEVER been a threat to Iraq.

One more fanatical government will be spawned(once we leave), snatched out of the hands of a contained secular ruthless dictator who was absolutely no threat to us.

I mean, for what? 4000+ dead and over 30,000 maimed for this? For what?

Now, it looks like Maliki wants us to give him a timetable. Since we supposedly treat them as an independent (lol) nation, we should give him one.

Saw the next President of this country speak this evening on the big screen above Fountain Square while he was a few blocks away in the Convention Center addressing the NAACP. I was 8 when JFK ran. Got the same feeling tonight listening to the junior senator from Illinois.

President Barack H. Obama. Made me very proud listening to this man tonight. Very proud to be an American after the Dark Ages of the Bush Dynasty.

i got news for you stevie...a senile mccain is a lot better than what obama brings to the table.
I guess you told me! But it's not like the grand daddy of them all
--or he told what he knew to be a boldfce lie to family and friends--then went on tv and scolded the world for doubting him--followed by lying under oath--

AR --on his sprint to the right

--his little trip to Iraq (to speak to our generals) isn't by accident--wait till you hear his rhetroric on progress there on his return--

I'd like to see the conference begin with generals asking him 1st question.

"Mr Obama--we presented our side before congress before and surge worked just as we presented--and your base ran full page ad trying to discredit us and you sided with them--why do you want our opinion now?"

Are these the same guys who ran the war for how many years before the surge? LOL! There was no progress until the Irai's finally realized that the open checkbook of George Bush was about to be slammed shut.

the only two things that the number 57 conotates to me is the number of varieties of heinz ketchup and the number of islamic states in the world......

freudian slip?....

maybe skulnik`s "wudu washer" in the w/h cartoon wasn`t so far fetched after all......:SIB

Nunn don't stand a chance and will not be selected as VP.

I think McCain will make the big mistake picking his VP. Bush and Cheney will be making that seleciton for him.

Obama taking his time. When its all said and done he will pick the stronger VP candidate.

Stop hating so much AR, your going to have a heart attack tack tack tack.

GO OBAMA !
