Some interesting tidbits from the Wiki-Bio:

(My personal favorite - Wayne, please note): Palin has also helped pass a tax increase on oil company profits.

Palin's first veto was used to block legislation that would have barred the state from granting benefits to the partners of gay state employees. In effect, her veto granted State of Alaska benefits to same-sex couples.

(Hmm, she veto's for homo's? That won't play well with the righties...)

Palin has announced plans to create a new sub-cabinet group of advisors, to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions within Alaska.

(Global Warming stuff?!? Blasphemy!!! Welcome, conservatives, to your Vice President!!!)

In 1984, after winning the Miss Wasilla contest earlier that year, Palin finished second in the Miss Alaska beauty pageant which won her a scholarship to help pay her way through college. In the Wasilla pageant, she played the flute and also won Miss Congeniality.

(Okay, now THIS IS getting interesting. A congenial FLUTE player? Are you starting to see what John sees in her? How do you think Bubba must view her experience!?!)

Palin holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Idaho where she also minored in politics. Briefly worked as a sports reporter for local Anchorage television stations while also working as a commercial fisherman with her husband.

(She's a media member?!? We all know what that means - a closet liberal. And evidently the business experience she has is commercial fishing? Wow, that IS some executive training.)

In all seriousness, it sounds like she's the kind of gal I'd like to see out at a bar on her one night out per month, throwing 'em back and dancing with strangers (like me on my one night out per month). But her governing experience and decisions are a stark contrast in theory. When some of this becomes common knowledge, it can't help with true conservatives, which is what McCain really needed to cement, IMO.

This one time at band camp. . . . .

My comptroller, who kept parading around today all happy because the VP choice is an arch conservative, will die a little inside when he finds out about that gay vote. He truly believes there is a gay agenda out there determined to take over and turn all our kids gay. I told him sure there is and its being run by Larry Craig and Mark Foley. Of course, he doesn't know who those guys are--yet he listens to talk "news" all day. He will not be happy with that tidbit.

But, there's no way he's voting for BO, ever. And, he's not the type to skip elections. That vote will sadden him, make him more paranoid, but he'll stull pull the lever (is that even a valid cliche, anymore?) for Johnny Mac.

You left out several parts chad--just pick and choose :)

Can't say I know a lot about her yet--but one thing I have come to conclusion--if economy and corruption are at top of list--she should be hit--other than her bio will be interested to see what comes out on her.

Will take Dems a few days to dig as sure they weren't expecting her. Will be curious to see what they come up with--so far just the small town girl mayor bit--didn't they learn anything in ohio?

School is definately still out on her. who knows she might have to disavow everyone responsible for bring her up through the ranks also before its over--you never know on these unknowns.
We'll see. :)

So, it wouldn't be murder though? So what would it be?

killing a pet/dog.

from wiki: Murder is the unlawful killing of another human person with malice aforethought, as defined in Common Law countries. Murder is generally distinguished from other forms of homicide by the elements of malice aforethought and the lack of lawful justification.

Just a quick question for you. What do you think of her experience for the job of VP ?

You know what I am getting at. Is she qualified to be President if McCain were to have a heart attack or something ?

Being a mother of a 5 month old with Downs wouldn't you think that child demands a lot more attention than the Vice President of the United States can afford to give it?

Stevie, when your friends get no bid billion dollar contracts in a war created by the guy giving out the money, you then have plenty of money to care for a child even tho you are only supposed to be making 200000 a year.;) If you know what i mean.

Whats this problem she has with her attorney general. What answer is correct about Iraq war. She gave none. But she's been a mayor of a small town. And now is a governor of a state that does not have as many people in it as city of Dallas. You all telling me she's more qualified then my man Mitt. BS. Mc Cain camp even admitts John only talk with her twice. He's playing a hunch that's it.

nah, not really into class envy. I am more pissed of at what has become of what was once the gop. You know, the fact that GW Jr. DOUBLED government spending during his tenure, ran the debt up to 10 TRILLION dollars, allowed the value of the dollar to plummet, put in a failed energy policy that we are all paying for, invaded a country that did not attack us while those that did remain free all the while pilfering untold billions in war profiteering, etc...you know, the kind of stuff that would make Goldwater puke. I am a fiscal conservative, not anti-business at all as it provides me and my family a very good living. I am a social lib, but this is why I hate the current republicans.

But keep trying to put me into the narrow categories that make it possible for you to make sense of the world. "Good" guys on one side, and self loathing, America hating pro-terrorist socialists on the other. I understand.

I do find it comical to watch the shills defend this choice. I am not sure if it is more idiotic than the choice of Dan Quayle or not. I will call it a draw.

Amen brotha, I might vote Republican more often if they were more like my father?s republican party.

Ya know, I can overlook the the religious, moral, gay stuff when they are running a tight, efficient, freedom loving ship.

But what is their appeal when they can't even muster a modicum of fiscal responsibility? They barely even pretend to anymore

yep. I think it speaks volumes about how far from their original principles they have strayed for you to say that you would overlook their moralistic nonsense and still support a true republican candidate. But then again, the influence of the religious wack jobs fundamentally violates true republican principles so there you go. Goldwater hated religious zealots and said they would ruin the party.

Guess I'm in the minority here. I think it's a great choice. One that will certainly get him elected easier.
