I have long been an opponent of loading anti-virus software on computers. I especially despise Norton and McAfee because they slow your computer down more than most any virus out there (barring the real biggies).

I've always felt that personal responsibility on your web browsing and email usage would save you more times than having anti-virus software.

Well, here I am to endorse Avast with the rest of the board. Thanks for the tip on this.

The computer that my wife and kids use got a virus on it (probably my wife with porn). I took the advice from here and installed Avast about a week ago.

This product is amazing (and FREE) and probably should be downloaded by everyone here.

I still highly recommend to get rid of Norton and McAfee as quickly as possible. You will be amazed how much faster your computer runs without them. I guarantee it makes a bigger difference on speed than using Chrome.

Scratch everything I said before. I was wrong. Avast is something you should be using.

ok, bought it. all errors are clened up. all 919 of them that were left. i'll let you know if i notice any difference in performance.

i'm going to optimize now and then run a startup cleaner
