Didn't watch any of the Obama stuff tonight.. I can't defend the dems for lying about the tax situation. It seems to be logic that people making more money would get taxed more. Is it fair? Hell no.. What else are you going to do to get rid of the deficit? :shrug: Taxing the poor will just leave us more in debt in the future. It has to come from somewhere,

i don`t wanna speak for mccain,but conservatives believe that the idea out of this fannie mae/freddie mac mess is to try and grow the economy....not stay stagnant...

and how does the economy grow when you tax and take money away from your producers and give it to the ones that drag the economy down?....

put it in the context of a growing company....

tell all the salespeople that they`ll be pooling their sales bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all the workers...this is so those that are underachieving get a "fair shake"......

and tell `em that they`ll be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool also..... dividing it equally amongst everyone....this way,those that are "too busy for overtime" can reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours......

and compared to our capitalistic system,it`s a failure....

I'm not on the left and I agree it is a lie. But an even bigger lie is that you can cut taxes for everyone, run 2 $100B wars a year and continue to import Saudi gas at record levels. McCain is just as big of a liar as Obama. It's unfortunate that someone can't cut throught the BS and tell the country the truth. The Republicans are going to pay for the economic malfeasance of the last 8 years and for that we will get higher taxes and the usual democratic mis management. It would be hard for someone to do any worse than the buffoon from Texas.

The country is in shambles. I live in the Midwest. There is a huge dustbowl! We are about to leave our 1 room house (my family of 11) and get on the wagon train and try to find better times in California. Aunt Nelly is going to stay behind and live off the cow, goat, and 7 chickens we have left.
