believe how dead it was compared to say 5 years ago..........

Dealer told me she has been working there for 35 years and in the past 6 months she has had to go on a 3day one week......4day next week work schedule..........

Are the days of Vegas being wall to wall people over ????

Was weird to see but I wasnt complaining as I kinda liked not having to wait in lines everywhere.............

I heard the same thing, it was dead, they are begging people to go and spend their money. Actually this would be the perfect time to go out and not have to deal with the crowds, I am trying to talk my wife into going in March for march madness

Look no further than the U.S. economy:shrug: Vegas loses out big time when people dont have money to blow.

I was there last weekend (1/9-1/12), also.

Despite the CES and the Porn converntions, it was quiet.

A sure sign the economy is hurting. Only spots for the uber-riche were busy.:scared

I'm here right now... and it is not all that busy.

Got an email about a month ago - an offer for 3 free nights, plus $150 for food at the all new Wynn Encore resort.

It has only been open since mid December, and they already have to send out free offers. Wow.

The rooms here are amazing though - I'm not sure what the normal rate is, but wow. I used to think the Venetian rooms were the best - but they don't hold a candle to these.

All for free too - thank you Steve Wynn!

Been here off and on since November....and no it is not that busy.....and that's a good thing. But it is not a ghost town. Still lots of people, just not like it used to be.

And Mags......

3 free nights and 150 bucks in food......damn:scared

That's a sweet deal....I should walk over there later and get that....off course I am sure you had to gamble a lot at the Wynn to get that. So guess I'm outta luck.

Maybe they have a madjack rate:142smilie

And BBMF is right.....you'd never know about the economy if ya spent time in the high stakes rooms at the Bellagio and the Wynn. Always packed and money flying around everywhere.

Kickserv... you'd think I gambled here a lot, but the funny thing is - last year when I was in town I came over to the Wynn, signed up for a Red Card (their player card), took the $10 tour through the Ferrari exhibit, and that was it. Never even played anything here.

I was just a name on their mailing list, and I got the offer somehow.

I doubt that I've been playing enough or high enough to be asked back, but its been a nice trip this week (especially since it is like -10 back home in Wisky).

So, I guess the moral of the story is - sign up for a players card in any nice casino that you visit - who knows what type of free offer you may get???

Went with a group of guys out to the Venetian about a year ago. We had adjoining suites and between the 6 of us we probably gave them about 15 grand. They were so nice as to comp only 2 out of the 3 nights and I get a coupon in the mail every once in a while offering $100 off my next stay. BTW I gave them 5k personally. What a joke. Guess I need to stay at the Wynn next time.

I got that deal at the Wynn too right before Christmas. I went for coffee at about 8am on a weekday and the whole casino was empty except for employees and people lined up for coffee...unbelievable.

Then, about a week later, they opened the Encore.

This was the first year ever I got comp offers for New Year's...I didn't go.

I'll be there for March Madness too...you should definitely check out the deals as they are begging for customers.

LMM, not trying to bust your balls but, you've been
there what, a year. I lived there 93-95 and it was
crazy. Went there 4 years ago and it was insane.
Ask Senor Capper, Fletcher, who have been there
for decades, they know. The economy is one
thing, but all these little piss ant indian casions in
every little piss ant town in every little piss ant
state is KILLING VEGAS.

I was staying at the Paris this past weekend from Jan 8th - Jan 13 for free. Vegas was dead and I go atleast ever 2 months. No waiting in line at the sportsbooks during the NFL playoff games. If you came into the casino between 7am - 10am you could damn near get any video poker or slot machine you wanted. They have increased the prices on the Buffets which will turn people away especially since Vegas was known for cheap food.
