OK so I am tired of getting into a show only to have it pulled from under me. Don't mind so much if it is a first season failure and they give but shows 4+ season in with no closure feels like lost time to me.
Here is my list of newest complaints and what the hell are they thinking by keeping this on list.
First Shows that were canceled and should still be on:
1. MY NAME IS EARL(NBC)(4 seasons left with cliffhanger)-Ratings fell every year but still had strong numbers and cast and crew wanted its return this fall.NBC did not. Ethan Suplee(Plays Randy) tried to save it but could not. TBS looked into picking it up but I think paying the cast was out of their range.
2. THE UNIT (CBS)(4 seasons left with cliffhanger)- Solid show if you are a David Mamet fan, but CBS always moved it around and would show it one week and then not the next really hurting ratings for a show that carries over week after week for the most part. Went from season 1 16 million viewers to 11 each of next 2 season and 9.8 last season moving it from Tues to Sun.
3. JOURNEYMAN (NBC) - Interesting show that had good plot, good acting but never finished season 1.
4. 30 DAYS(FX)(3 seasons) - Not a huge following but solid documentary show starring Morgan Spurlock.
I am sure more than these four will strike me, but those are the most glaring to me.
Shows that amaze me that they get so much pub and attention:
1. WIPEOUT(ABC) - Not even interested in watching the promos much less the show.
2. BIG BROTHER(CBS) - How in the hell is this into 11 seasons?
3. Anything Island related(Celebrity or otherwise).- I have enough real drama in my life so why do I need a shows drama.
4. AMERICA'S GOT TALENT(NBC) - One word:Hasselhoff.
5. SUPERSTARS(ABC) - This is just plain bad for the 5 minutes a night I have seen of it when passing by it. Jeff Kent shooting jumpers with Ali Landry, REALLY? No Howard Cosell, no me.
6. And finally, just about any show on ABC.
Shows I am trying to start that never did currently during dead summer:
1. RAISING THE BAR(TNT) (In season 2)- Courtroom drama starring Zach Morris from Saved By The Bell. Very far fetched and kinda slow but sticking with it for some reason.
2. IN PLAIN SIGHT(USA)(In season 2) - Not bad show about Marshall's putting people in Witness Protection starring Mary McCormack. Kind of Offbeat dramedy.
3. HUNG(HBO)- 1st season starring Thomas Jane as a broke, down on his luck HS Basketball coach who turns to becoming a male escort because he is well hung.
Of course the only shows on right now worth watching that are many seasons in are ENTOURAGE,WEEDS, AND RESCUE ME.
Anybody got any other shows of recommendation out there??
