Fly into Vegas last Friday and grab a cab..I tell the guy Paradise to Sands Ave to the Wynn and the dick hauls ass directly up onto the highway costing me twice as much as it should.. When I stiff him on the tip he gets an attitude and I tell him he can PULL HIS TIP OUT OF THE METER.. :00x3

What the hell is it with people that have to slap you when it's obvious you're ignoring them! Of course it's at the table I'm winning at and Don't want to leave..Was worth the aggravation for $800...

True. They can get in trouble for taking the long route on the highway if you give them instructions like you did.

i had a similar problem last year when i took a cab from the mirage to so.point....before i took the cab hooks told me that the ride was straight down vegas blvd....but this guy took me on the highway (he said it was a shortcut) & instead of a 10-15 minute drive, it was closer to a 1/2 hour....when the cab finally arrived at so. point the fare came to $24 & i gave hime $25 & told him to keep the change....he looked at me & i looked at him & nothing was said....later that night hooks gave me a lift back to the mirage & the ride was like 15 minutes....
My buddies and I usually do the limo on arrival in March. Its definitely worth it, and about the same price as a cab if theres a group of you. Cab line is usually longer than my......oh, nevermind. kurby
Didn't know if the limo thing was ridiculous or not....sounds good.....I am going soon.
it's not that much more but much better than standing in a taxi line for 30 minutes. i've even taken one by myself.

A few years ago we had about 12 guys out there, and the limo company picked us up in a shuttle type "limo". Only cost us about $5 apiece I think. I dont remember the exact details. It was set up in advance obviously. Good luck out there.
I have yet to experience a long line for a cab in Vegas. I always try to arrive around 8pm - maybe that's a good time......:shrug:

usually there isn't hardly a line at all but when there is...take the limo.
no other reason to take the limo, imo, unless you're there with 4 or more people.

and, sponge, grab that shuttle. when they drop off some folks at circus circus, maybe they'll wait while you run in there and get the ONE POUND HOTDOG for a buck and a 99 cent shrimp cocktail. and, after those people are gone, you should be able to sit down for the rest of your 9 stops before they get to your hotel.
