(Assuming this is legal; perhaps a moderator could approve this  )

Pretty simple...

I am particularly looking for any free contests with a solid prize--be it a whole bracket, round-to-round, points for upsets, whatever--or semi-cheap contests that are well run. However, feel free to post anything! Everyone wants a chance at prizes and a reason to fill out more brackets, but who wants to go searching all over when others already know of some excellent contests?

For example, obviously CBS (Sportsline.com) and ESPN both run free bracket contests, both of which attract about 10 trillion contestants. But why not fill out a crazy bracket for shits? If I remember correctly, I think ESPN pays $1 million for a perfect bracket.

Thank you very much IE! :00hour

Also guys, don't forget to include contests run through actual books (as IE did) if you think they're worthwhile!

Later today, I'll post the ones I usually play in. :box2:

I'm curious as to why you don't understand reality. The facts were presented. Apparently you don't believe the facts.

While Dr. Math's point is well-taken, my question had nothing at all to do with the probability of completing a perfect bracket, and everything to do with you coming off as an individual with a large stick in his or her ass.

Wait, there is something that's a bigger waste of time than trying to win a perfect bracket contest ... and I just did it.

Even if every person in America filled one out (300 million people),
the probability of someone winning is:

300,000,000
----------- = .00000000003253
2^63

This isn't entirely accurate though in my eyes. Since the 1 vs 16 matchups are completely onesided, they should be given the same amount of weight in such a calculation. This calculation assumes that all matchups have a 50-50 chance of going either way....which is obviously just not true
