Where it is real F ing COLD
in my mind gone overboard with this story. Yes he may retire but every local and national media outlet is reporting this as it is carved in stone. What do we have. We have reports that he "TEXTED" members of the Vikings. Which members? Ryan Longwell said he talked to Favre today and he did not menrtion retiring to him. I am not trying to be in denial of the situation but I wouldn't report it as true until he says it in a press conference. To run with it because of some reported texts is just lunacy especially when it comes to this guy. Just what we needed... Another thread revolving around Brett Favre.:sadwave:

nope--fkn espn--:sadwave:

I thought he was retired....

Rotoworld.com
Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports the Vikings have offered Brett Favre a raise that would increase his 2010 base salary from $13 million to $16 million.

Incentives could reportedly push the salary even higher. Zulgad has been on top of the Favre story from the get-go, and went on NFL Network Tuesday to strongly caution that Favre's mind isn't necessarily made up. It's unclear if money is one of the main sticking points in Favre's decision, but there have been plenty of rumors it is. Favre played last season for $12 million. Aug. 3 - 11:55 pm et

wow--shocking

wow--shocking

:(

Brett Favre has told ESPN's Ed Werder that he will play for the Vikings this season as long as he's healthy.

To be clear, no final decision has been made yet. Favre is still testing his surgically repaired ankle. His presence on a Mississippi high school field Wednesday morning is obviously a positive sign. Favre denies sending a retirement text message to any Vikings personnel, and we still expect Favre to re-join his teammates before the start of the season. Aug. 4 - 11:54 am et

I think this guy likes this 10X more than playing football.

When is "The Decision" going to be on?

I am on the edge of my seat wondering what he will do. A one hour special is a priority.

he has the Vikings by the balls, he knows what he is doing. they sweetened the pot when he said he was going to retire, 20 mil for the year, just look at the ratings last year when he was playing, they speak for themselves

The only thing that surprises me about this whole ordeal is that there were people who assumed he was actually going to retire when the report came out. Even if he DID say he was retiring, how does this guy's word mean anything anymore? He could call a press conference and report, with tears in his eyes, that he is retiring and I would still assume he was going to play.

I too am ready for the story to just go away, but in an honesty contest between him and the media he still wins in my book. Somebody made up some shit and it spread like BP oil. The media had a field day with it and now they are eating shit. I just cant believe he would leak this to get what another 2 mil? I never have gotten why everyone cant understand his "comebacks". Most everyone has to be pushed out the door because noone wants them. He on the other hand is being begged to come back which obviously has to make it that much harder to leave the game. I know I am a douche for somewhat defending him:facepalm: but it would be hard as hell to leave when noone wants you, much less when they are willing to pay you 16 mil a year:shrug:

Okay let me have it:scared :scared :scared

The NFL now officially stands for the National Favre League. Seriously, though, how pathetic things have become in pro sports the last several years. At one time, sports were actually about sports. But now you have individuals who seem to be bigger than the sport in which they play. It almost seems like Brett Favre has been possessed by an attention seeking teenage girl. Either that, or the bigger a star one becomes, the bigger a douche he becomes as well. I guess I shouldn't be so hard on the little attention whore since ESPN and the media is just as guilty.....

HELL
He is such a fucking douche bag, cant stand him anymore. Every year he holds a team prisoner, I would have said fuck it, and fuck you Brett and went and try to get Donovan McNabb. If he doesn't come back he screwed them, not allowing them any chance at all on any FA's (Bulger) or possible trades (Campbell or maybe Big Ben). He knew the story was going around about him retiring and ran like a bitch almost feeling offended people wanted to know, I say FUCK you.

Is it that hard to say to Ed Werder, I havent made a decision yet and going to base a lot of it off of my meeting with the doctor next week....END of story. He is the ultimate DRAMA queen. I can't stand him anymore, like everyone should kiss his ass, and yes he is/was a great QB, but fucking come on already....

I have always heard rumors of Brett Favre being somewhat of a flirt with the ladies and rumors of marital troubles.

He may just be looking to get more cash out of this even though he says it is not.

Then there is this:

Madden must be jealous, article didn't say if he got a pic...what a douche
Can't wait to see this mfer crawling off the field about week 12, well if he doesn't retire :jerkit: ...

I felt the same way until he put up the numbers he did last season which were truly amazing. This is just his ploy to avoid training camp. Just wish he'd do it quietly and without all the media attention

It's refreshing to know there are probably thousands upon thousands of gifted writers who can't find work right now due to the economy, but this chick can land multiple sports journalist gigs because she's got big, fake tits. Where is Yakov Smirnoff when you need him? He would be belting out his 'Whadda country!' if he saw this.

Although maybe I'm jumping to conclusions -- she does have a BA, so maybe it's in Journalism or Broadcasting. My money is on 'no,' however.

I am not blaming Favre for this one. ESPN deserves to eat a bunch of shit on this one.. Rumor has it that Visant Shiancoe wanted to start a ruze and was joking around and then the ESPN moguls ran with it.. It was such a shock to Vikes coaches and ownership that they were shitting their pants during practice when the news broke., Ownership panicked and offered more money.

Maybe Favre is giving Shiancoe a mil or 2 under the table to get him more money.:mj07:
