I figured once all his shit was out in the open, he would tear up the golf course, and be unstoppable. I said, here's a guy who was beating people while keeping all these secrects locked away, hoping they didn't creep up to bite him. How tough did that have to be???? And he won.

So, now the slate is "clean", and he can't play for shit??????

Is this the end for Tiger Woods? Theories abound as to why his golf game is imploding like the Death Star. Fox Sports golf columnist Robert Lucetich says he needs "tough love," and that the son of a Green Beret should not be moping around like he is. Tiger shot a career-worst 77 on Sunday at Bridgestone, and there are many, many theories as to why the world's formerly-best golfer now, well, sucks. Here are my favorites, with their corresponding odds of being true:

* It's the divorce, stupid: 2-1. His marriage is over, with the divorce papers waiting to be officially signed. No matter how much catting around he did, that has to be mentally exhausting. Elin took a club to him both physically and emotionally, it seems.

* He needs a new coach: 3-1. Steve Williams? While it looks like Williams is auditioning for the job, Waggle Room says that Grant Waite -- whom Tiger beat on the last hole to win the 2000 Canadian Open -- could be his next teacher.

* Age: 5-1. At 34, has the window closed for Woods? Since 1970, the average age of PGA Tour winners is 32. Ad things seem to fall apart in that regard after a golfer turns 35.

* Injuries: 8-1. There's something physically wrong with Tiger, and he's not telling what it is. Could it be related to the Thanksgiving SUV wreck? The answers are shrouded in mystery.

* It's the equipment: 10-1. Tiger changed putters in early July. Yeah, that'll turn the tide.

* Lack of practice: 12-1. Whether dodging the press or rushing off to see his kids, Tiger is practicing less.

* It's the drugs: 17-1. Or, lack of them. Whether you subscribe to the theory that he was on steroids, hooked on Ambien, or dependent on the "blood spinning" treatments by controversial doctor Anthony Galea, it's a fair bet that Tiger is without any of that aid right now, if he ever was in the first place.

* He needs his hos: 20-1. Has Tiger actually ever won a PGA event without some blonde on the side? By all accounts, he's now both wifeless and mistressless. Tiger needs the McLovin fake ID, pronto.

* He's doing this on purpose to gain sympathy from the public: 50-1. The fan who yelled: "Tiger you're washed up, go home!" at Bridgestone on Friday would seem to puncture this theory.

* He's doing this on purpose because he doesn't want to play on the Ryder Cup team: 75-1. Unlikely. He could just say no thanks, couldn't he?

* He's doing this on purpose so that Elin will get less in the divorce settlement: 150-1. I haven't seen this theory anywhere but on Twitter, by random fans. But it's fun to think about. No, on second thought, it's just stupid.

* It's the goatee: 175-1. Tiger has never finished a PGA event with facial hair. Just saying.

Ego: He's an ego-maniac. Golf is a mental game, right. He's not missing his kids, he's not missing his wife. But he can't mentally deal with the loss of his squeaky clean image and it's affecting his golf game.

The concentration level in golf is much more relevant than fast moving reflex action sports.

If your mind wonders so does performance, Once that occurs the ole condidence that was there is second guessed--you go from the wanting to take that last 2nd shot with score tied-- to being one thinking about consequences of results.

I have always believed Tigers greatest asset was attitude--he believed he was unbeatable--not the case anymore--and the longer it goes the harder it will be to comeback.

I think the main culprit is he just isn't practicing as much. It's not his obsession anymore, not like it used to be.

The greats are always behind the scenes working harder then anyone else to make everything look so easy. Jordan did it. A-Rod did it (yes I know, I know, PEDs but he openly admits to knowing there is someone out there working harder then him and it drives him mad). Tiger did it. But not anymore.

His priorities are in line and with that means he has lost his edge plus we have to remember when he came in 97 there weren't too many golfer-athletes so he had a huge advantage physically but not now. There is a huge crop of 20 year olds that are pure athletes, work harder, and are more ambitious then he is.

Do I think the guy is dead? No. Do I think he will when again? Of course. But I don't see him dominating. I really think it is going to be a giant grind for him to get five more majors. Everyone will laugh at that but the playing field is more level then it has ever been.

I heard awhile back that young boys were in the picture . I was also told that the media would be on to that soon and break the story, so I guess there is nothing there. I have a friend who played/still sometimes plays on the old Nike Tour. He was on roids and could absolutely crush the golf ball, 360 yd.+ drives. He got off the roids and was no longer a +2. Probably now is a 2 handicap, no more Nationwide Tour:sadwave: Gotta believe the lack of roids is hurting Eldrick.
