I had a lady doctor tell me not long ago that

once you hit 50 yrs old, your health has to be a

full tme job or you could leave the earth early.

She also told me to lose 10 lbs and that my

calories for a day should be no more than 1200

Shit a sleeve of cracker with jal dip are 1500

Good luck man. Yeah, the first few days are bad. If you eat/drink a lot of soda/sugar/caffeine....give yourself extra time to sleep.

Anytime I give up soda....its not just the caffeine but the sugar too...and I'll wake up absolutely exhausted for a few days until my body adjusts.

I'd say the first few days, maybe even a week, is about your body adjusting but very soon you'll start to have more energy. After that, its more about the cravings.

I'd recommend being really strict for 2-3 weeks and then giving yourself a couple "cheats" each week that isn't so bad it ruins what you've done. Maybe even extra workout to earn treats or something.

Like I say, good luck...it certainly can be done!

actually, it's pretty simple for you.

limit yourself to 1300 calories per day for 1 year, you will lose 70-100 pounds. guaranteed.

you'll drop 50 pounds in 5 months or less.

NO CHEATING :nono:

If you excercise you will lose more.

Not this bullshit again.

Where it is real F ing COLD
We were hijacking Bucksnotyucks thread.. Now I remember you and I did read this post. Some good advice here but I will warn you.. To set yourself with goals of 1300 to 1500 calories per day to start may not be the best choice but a reasonable goal to obtain in a month. The reason is that your body is used to eating much more than that and at first you will become very hungry and have the urges to "binge eat." Thus guilt and depression could fit in.. To start.. ELIIMINATE ALL FAST FOODS! Try to eliminate most deep fried foods at home too. Jack mentioned skinless chicken, fish (not deep fried) and raw veggies all good. I don't know who does the cooking at your house but I hope your wife is very supportive. Keep on a diet and maybe reward yourself with a treat time and again, but you must, must EXERCISE.. Use that gym you pay for. You will see that weight drop and you will be able to do more types of exercise with time thus building your self esteem.. You are going to have to start with walking and light weights more reps. Hire a peronal trainer to asist you. Now you got to ask yourself how do you get motivated?? Well you were motivated to start this thread?

Thanks mate. And I apologize for the hijack of the other thread.

I've been doing good especially with the time off. She has been doing a lot of the cooking which has been a godsend. I'm the one that needs to make a change and she is totally supportive.

Working out at the gym has been going well. Initially I had contacted a nutritionist to speak with but the local in our area can't see me to the end of the month.

I'm getting two hours of exercise in a day. A typical day is 40 minutes treadmill/20 minutes weight training depending on the day and then work on finding fun exercise to do for an hour. Basketball with friends/Tennis with family/A walk outside with her.

The food part is still a struggle and I've dumped my bad eating out routine and am working on eliminating pops right now. The headaches from withdrawals of these foods was horrible but I know its for the greater good.

I'm splitting my food into smaller portions and eating more often which is very weird because I always feel hungry but I read that this is better for my metabolism. My old days was a lite breakfast/binge a big meal/ snack at night. Now its getting balanced.

Trust me it is a work in progress and everyday I have that moment where I'm like F*#@ it lets grab a Big Mac but I'm not acting on it.

I haven't had much stress this month because I know I'm an emotional eater. Lose a 7 teamer by the hook of a last game and I'd have Papa Johns ready on the speed dial.

Ok I've written a lot.

A 7 teamer doesn't bother me but when I have an over large and there is 31 points at half and the game don't go over because of field goals all second half then it is BEER TIME.. That is why I started working out.. Started to get a serious beer gut but now it is going away rapidly and still can have beers but cut way down.

Sounds like you are on the right path thus far.

It's going to be a long process to get where I want to go and there are going to be bumps and sidetracks for sure.

I was never a beer guy. I'm a bread lover. Bread/rolls/biscuits/crackers/chips, ect. ect. I kick that and it's like riding a bike downhill. That shit is my crack.

Here
I know this is random but in the past couple of years I've put on a decent amount of weight and picked up some horrible habits. I'm wondering if there are any other fellow madjackers that would be interested in doing some sort of "Make A Change" challenge or group?

About 3 months back I had a panic attack from work related stress. I work from a home office and for the most part its work, work, work, and family. I need to do more if I want to live a full long life.

I'm 28 years old, 6 feet tall, and 307 pounds. I used to be the most active guy but now even the thought of doing stuff tires me out sometimes.

Is there any else out there that feels that way? I love life, my family, and what I do I'm just in a bad spot. A spot where if I keep going down this road it won't end well.

Well I guess this post was more or less to get some stuff off my chest and see if there other people in this community that are going through this or a similiar ordeal.

If your interested let me know or ask jack for my email.

Jack can u send me FatASS's e-mail addy ? :0008

I emailed him and stated he had something that he needed to clear up.

Hopefully he takes responsibility and is accountable.

I thought he was on the up and up.

just dont starve yourself, the worst thing you can possible do... Eat smaller meals and make sure those meals are healthy.. When just starting out I wouldn't worry too much about calories, just make sure you eat HEALTHY at the beginning.
