Good old Rachel supposedly lives about 40 mins North of us and probably hasn't visited in years.

The only Howard Johnson's left is the one in Lake George the one in S. Glens Falls closed in the mid 70's

She did come back and do cooking presentations in Price Chopper but that was at least 15 years ago.

Personally she makes my teeth itch..............

This is Ann from Ann's Snack bar in Atlanta.

The burger was voted #1 in the country in 2010 so TerryRay you can say what you want but until you have tried one of these, you can't really compare burgers.

This woman is pretty crazy. She only has 8 stools and only allows that many people in there at one time. She cooks to order once you are seated.

So one day I was in Atlanta and said wtf its 1100 and I should be able to slide over to the ghetto and get me a Ann's burger.

8 ppl were already seated. Some others were out in the patio waiting. Somehow she keeps track of things. So not knowing the rules , I walk up the steps and open the door.

GET OUT OF HERE ANN YELLED AT ME AS THE OTHERS SMILED AT MY MISFORTUNE !

Then I got the rules explained to me by the ppl waiting. I decided not to wait so I still have not had one of these.

Even without tasting it, I will put The Ghetto Burger up against that chuck beef TerryRay is posting in his thread.

NO BURGER FOR YOU!!!

Used to be "The Great Escape" and now it is a 6 Flags park.

The Howard Johnson's is right on Rt 9 just south of the Village.

Even though it is only about 30 mins away we stay at the Tiki every year for the Adirondck Nationals.

My wife and I ate at Anthonys in Atl last year

This is a nice restaurant with history and fairly expensive.

We got so sick we puked in the parking lot and when we got home still puking.

The way we identified what caused it was I had steak and potato and she had lobster and greens.

The only thing we both ate were the crabcakes.

They didnt look like that though. More of a biscuit type look.

I have never eaten crabcakes  will have to try them next time I go to a seafood restaurant, I love crab legs though

Hedgy: Seriously, go find some lump crab meet in your seafood section (1 LB), make sure you get lump and not claw. In that same section, or in the spice aisle, look for a can of Old Bay seasoning. Pick up a canister of bread crumbs, some mayo, and some worchestershire sauce. We'll get you the recipe if you can't find it using the search. They are AMAZING and very simple to make.

Jack and I have both posted recipes, mine is just a version of his.

Crab Cakes

1 pound of crabmeat.
2 beaten eggs
4 tablespoons mayo - REAL mayo
2 teaspoons OLD BAY
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1.5 teaspoon mustard - yellow
1 Dash of Mustard powder
1/2 cup crushed bread crumbs
1/4 onion chopped
1 teaspoon parsley
2 tablespoons Worchestershire Sauce

375 degrees, 20 minutes

Remoulade Sauce

Five spear dill pickles (OPTIONAL)
1/2 cup of mayo
sriracha to taste
A punch of Old Bay (not a pinch, a punch)
A punch of Emril's Original Essence (OPTIONAL)
