http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/01/06/tax-increase-plan-bigger-than-expected/

SPRINGFIELD (AP) ? Top Illinois Democrats have agreed to push a plan that would temporarily boost income taxes by 75 percent and double cigarette taxes, Senate President John Cullerton said Thursday.
Illinois? personal income tax rate, now 3 percent, would climb to 5.25 percent for four years under the plan Cullerton outlined. After that, it would drop to 3.75 percent.

Maybe he can be there for his grandchildren in ways he could not for his kids.

Still, all the credit must go to Kirtley, the woman who truly deserves the fame her ex has been getting the past few days.

.................................................................

so here is the ex wife of the Golden Voice man who raised his children.

She was on the dole.

But what did she do ? She went to school and got a blind vendors license.

How can you hold this against someone like this ?

Dont you realize how pathetic it sounds to lump all people into your da base category ?

I know you dont get it. And you never will.

No longer--maybe

Ill. faces 66 percent tax boost amid budget crisis

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. ? Democratic Illinois lawmakers beat a looming deadline and approved a 66 percent income-tax increase in a desperate bid to end the state's crippling budget crisis.
Legislative leaders rushed early Wednesday to pass the politically risky plan before a new General Assembly was sworn in at noon, taking a slice out of the Democratic majority and removing lame-duck lawmakers willing to support the tax before leaving office.
The rate increase might be the biggest any state has adopted in percentage terms while grappling with recent economic woes.

The proposal passed the House on Tuesday night 60-57, the bare minimum. No Republicans backed the measure there or in the Senate, where the measure passed 30-29.

"We're saying to the people of Illinois, 'For eight years we've overspent, now we're going to make it your problem,'" said Rep. Roger Eddy. "We're making up for our mistakes on your back."

Convictions have consequences.

Hope BBC takes that O sticker off his car--or he'll be in the soup line :)

larger point. But I'm not sure either of them intended to redefine the phrase, or that they should have."

Foxman, in the ADL statement, also supports Palin's larger point ? that commentators have wrongly linked her and other's rhetoric to the attacks.

"It was inappropriate at the outset to blame Sarah Palin and others for causing this tragedy or for being an accessory to murder," he said. "Palin has every right to defend herself against these kinds of attacks, and we agree with her that the best tradition in America is one of finding common ground despite our differences."

A Palin adviser had no further comment on the former vice presidential candidate's Facebook post.

Cute choice of charts, doggie, but meaningless. You need the chart which shows state income tax as a percentage of per capita income.

As usual with you figures don't lie, but doggies do.

You may be a redneck, but you aren't my brother. He's a Mississippi redneck.

Hey Bobby I may be traveling to chicago in the spring. What say we grab a chicago dog and some beers and go to wrigleys.

If you concentrate on the tax rate going from 3 to 5.25%, you'd probably say "Meh, my state still charges more." If you throw around percentages like 75%, things sure start to sound dire.
